I have a casting question. On these axes, is there any sign of chaplets on the blade end or elsewhere. Chaplets are little single or double headed nail like gizmos that are put into the sand first support the core, then to prevent core float after pouring. That is assuming this bad boy was sand cast of course. You will see a little steel spot, maybe a 3/32" diameter spot, both on top and bottom of the casting. It will probably be just a tiny rust spot but nice and round. God bless |
