This is a wedged infill not a screw-cap style. The blade is missing
it's cap iron as well. The wood wedge should go between the brass cap
and the iron, not between the iron and the frog. Given the condition
it's just as reasonable to assume the plane isn't from the same mfg.

It's a bit hard to tell from the photos, but the wood wedge doesn't
look 'right' to me. Usually they're longer or have a little 'bun' atop
to keep the from sliding under the pivoting cap. Perhaps it's just
mislead because the cap iron is missing and the wedge sits ~50% too
low in the photos.

Nice plane, it'll clean up really nicely!
