Nice! I like the pattern (as you said - open, simple). The one that I was
struggling with a a replacement piece, so I didn't have much choice in the
design (it was the 'speaker grill' for a victrola that a friend is
restoring).... In any case, between files, rifflers, and sandpaper coated
feeler gauges, I ended up with an acceptable result. One of the biggest
things was realizing that the really tight corners don't need to be cut all
the way through. By ending the cut a little before the point, then carving
the point at the surface, the end result LOOKS like a really tight point
that goes all the way through - even if it is only superficial... that
meant that most of the real problem areas simply went away - they were
carved instead of cut...
