Sawbench like Ron Hermann's would be good.  I keep building sawbenches.  I'm
not sure why.

A second idea:  blanket chest.  I was looking into six board chests recently
as a simpler way to construct a tool chest.  I found a Fine Woodworking
article by Michael Dunbar with no-electricity plans for a blanket chest:

The blanket chest seems useful and plausible.
