Since its time for the galooticlause event again, I thought I should
update my bio (not sure that I have a "real" bio)
I'm now 45, (yuck) and work for Duke (no, I don't have anything to do with
lacrosse, and I can't even get myself basketball tickets, so don't ask).
I've got somewhat of a "collection" of "user" tools in the garage/shop,
and normally use them for their intended purpose (as opposed to using my
#8 for self defense, or as a paperweight) and a few that I've only used
once and now are more of a collection.
I'm not sure that I have a favorite tool, as I seem to have 2-3 of several
things (like block planes, yanke screw drivers, folding boxwood rulers,
and braces) but don't really "collect" one thing. Unlike some list members
who seem to have a saw problem, or a wooden plane problem, I just can't
seem to keep focused.
Between work, Oldest daughters cheerleading, and youngest daughters tae
kwondo, and everything else, I'm lucky if I get to work in the shop more
than a couple hours a week. Some of my other projects (like refinishing
furniture for my wife) keep me busy too.
projects on my list right now include sharpening a 2 man saw (thanks to
this list, I new what it was, and new what the tools were when I bought
them, and now have a reference site for how-to), as well as completing an
anvil stand, along with spraying white enamel on a beat up dressing table
for my wife and black lacquer on dining room chairs. (of course, the order
is likely to be reversed from the way I've listed it)
Oh, and I belong to that other old tool list (OWWM) because I'd rather all
my tools be older than me, so their experience can maybe help me not screw
up too badley.

oh yeah, I live in Cary (Containment Area for Relocated Yankee's) NC,
apparently ranked #8th safest city in the US--much better than where I
went to school (Detroit-now 2nd most unsafe city in the US)
