Bob Nelson says:
>To show how far behind the curve I am, I can only emulate Jeff and ask
(re IT), "Wuzzat den?"
If you have to ask, the answer to the question is probably no. My
girlfriend is a techie, and thinks it's pretty funny how out of touch I am
with the lingo and acronyms. She told me last night what IT was and I've
already forgotten!
In my field, I guess I could be considered a galoot. I make a living playing
piano and accordion, mostly playing music that was in vogue anywhere from
40-100 years before I was born (I'm 30). I also play things that could be
classified as crazy noise, but I don't get paid as much to do that. I think
of being a musician and being a galoot as nearly the same thing- both give me
the satisfaction of developing manual skills and making stuff myself. The
difference is there's no sharp objects in music.
