Cruising the interwebs a couple weeks ago, I came across
the blog of Tim Manney, a chairmaker from Portland, Maine (
http://timmanneychairmaker.blogspot.com). In one post, he described
modifying a carpenter's hatchet for use as a spoon carving hatchet. I was
intrigued and decided to try the same. His version has an asymmetrical
bevel (longer on the side closest to the wood).
