Gentle Galoots (Assembled);
I'm putting the final touches on a simple project, namely my representation of a
Stanley #801 toolbox. The problem is one of hardware. The hinges on this beast
are very unique, and many hours of interwebz sleuthing have gotten me nothing
but heartache.
Metal work, while quite galootish in nature, is not something I aspire to do at
all. So the question I'm asking is directed at those who would know the
specifics of the box itself: Is there anyone out there who has liberated hinges
from a Stanley #801 or #888 box and would be interested in parting with them, or
know of a source that carries these modified strap hinges?
Again, a very focused question but one I had to ask The Porch before exercising
other (less optimal) options.
