"What are you doing here?" That seemed to be the question of the day as
I made a quick run down to the spring Brown Tool Auction dealer sale in
Camp Hill PA yesterday. Which I guess was warranted as this was the
first one that I have been down to (spring and fall) in a few years.
But I came, I saw, I bought.
Had a Tony Z sighting, Bill Weber and his lovely were there, as well as
Walt and Mary Henderson.
The sales floor was reasonably full, with most of the usual suspects
being present. I was waiting at one table to complete a purchase when a
guy comes up and starts asking about center point bits. I said that it
wasn't my table and he said that he knew, he wanted to know if I had any
at my table.... Nice to be remembered eh?

This is a shot of the auction area but I didn't go in.

Pickings were good for what I was looking for and wanting to spend.
Number of chisels and a few chip carving knives. The square in the
upper right corner is a Charles Smith patent, Pat. No. 760,031 granted
on May 17, 1904.

Couple neat items here here, the brace is a Stanley X-3 6 inch sweep,
that needs some attention but well worth the price of admission. The
thing with the 2 legs and wing nut is marked Pat 1903 and the legs are
ruled on one side. That will take some research and some cleaning but it
is different.

All in all I was pretty happy with the pile. Then it was on the road
and on the run back to the shop. Of course, this time of year, I-81
looks like the A-10 Warthogs out of Fort Indiantown Gap, have been using
it for carpet bombing practice. But you will have this.
Tony (all in a day's tools, eh?)
