In addition to what has been posted, the sole is in sad shape! I have a copy of
a Spiers miter similar to that which I assembled myself, and it works a treat.
The value for me is as a working tool, and I believe that my home made one will
do whatever that one will do, with the added satisfaction of it having come from
my own hands.
 YMMV, of course!!
