Eric,
You were on the right track but I had run afoul of my own ignorance in posting
photos to Google+. I had not posted the photos to Public. Several Galoots tried
to explain my error but I only seem to learn through experimentation.
Your link opens into the main group of 2296 photos on my Google page for David
Nighswander. (Good Lord I take a lot of pictures) Unfortunately the water stone
pictures are off down another rabbit hole that I created called Old Sneelock’s
Workshop.
This is a link to that particular album. I did manage to change the posting to
Public this morning so perhaps more than just a select few can see them.

This should send you directly to a photo of the 6000 grit stone.

If that doesn't work for you, in desperation I posted a slide show on Youtube
with the tools from the barn sale in it.

I also managed to flatten the stones using a sandstone block. (That started a
whole new questioning session of, “Why sandstone?” The answer being, “Because I
had one.”) This is a link to that video.

If these don’t get you to a place where you can see the pictures I apologize for
leading you astray. Pride is a sin and my glee at finding these Garnets strewn
along the slope led to this unfortunate exercise in confusion.
The moral of this story is I did learn something new about Google+ so all is not
in vain.
At least until the next upgrade.
