Yesterday I posted a note about an "Italian style shave horse" and said it
intrigued me enough to want to make one. Last night I thot through some
plans for a quick & dirty version.

The "poppets" for the new one just lift out, the foot brace is only held w/
a dowel and the legs are tapered tenonsThe main advantage of this style is
that you can work the entire upper surface of your stock and it is really
fast to rotate or end-for-end the stock. The obvious disadvantage is that
you are limited in the length of stock you can work.

 Thanks for posting this Bill.  That design has vexed my imagination for
years ever since Follansbee's blog steered me towards A Handmade Life.
Fruitless Google Fu made be backburner this idea, a shave horse that you
could set across two chairs and stand in a corner!

Looks ideal for handles, chisel, hammer etc.
