Hi my name is David. You have all met my opinionated father Gene. I
am 12 years old. I would like to join this group due to my great interest in
wood working, and my dad has taught me that power tools are not the only way
to hack up a piece of wood. I also have invented a few things and would like
to market them. I also have built 4 winning pine wood derby cars for my
scout troup.

David

David -- Welcome to the Porch.

Who knows, David may be the next "Bill Gates" of woodworking.

Sincerely,

Hi David,

Your dad has gotten me very curious as to what you make. This Monday is
FMM as I'm sure your father has told you. Please do post then so I can
find out what you make. Who knows, I might even buy one.

Jake Spiller

BTW, congratulations on your derby cars.

Hopefully David's Dad has told him that this Monday is August 25th ...
don't want anyone shooting off FS's and WTB's a week early again, do we? ;-)

awe C'Mon... this aint fair!
Makins us WAIT till Monday.

wouldn't it be okay if he told us WAHT he invented ....
I mean, as long as he does not tell us how much he's asking for it.. then
it would not REALLY be a FS post, would it?

I won 3 years in a row, but I useds my Dads (the toolmaker) Bridgport
milling machine and lathe.... my wheels had less than .001" of runout....
It was not cheating since I REALLY did all the work myself I just used the
tools at my disposal. It was not MY fault the other boys only had coping
saws and paddyknives ;-)

As a general rule of thumb I found they can drive about twice their
dress size. Size 3 -> 6d, Size 4 -> 8d. Buy the five pound boxes.
They'll save you trips to the lumber yard.
