   Nice boxes, both of them.

Everyone, everywhere, when confronted with their first machinist box
always says.........................
"I want to refelt this box." first thing!
  Just like it was nothing.
We all say this. I certainly did.
And some of us are actually crazy enough to do it. :)
Just don't underestimate the job.

Gerstner will charge you more for new felt then you can get 3 other
decent boxes for.
Don't be tempted with any kind of poly-felt either. All the hobby shop
stuff actually traps water against your tools. Not good.
It has to be real wool felt to wick water away.

Much easier, if you live in a reasonable climate, is to get very thin
sheet cork and redo just the bottoms, if there is any chance at all this
will do. Auto parts stores sell sheet cork for gaskets but you can find
cheaper if you hunt hard enough.
Otherwise, try to find someone who refelts pool tables and get used
felt. A little cue chalk won't kill you.
It will still be a long miserable job, but at least it won't cost you a
fortune.

Not sure what Jennings would have used for pulls,
probably small solid brass knobs on each end?? Maybe just one in the
middle??

The coolest machinist chest pulls, IMO, were tiny ring pulls, exactly
like these only very small and solid brass.

Nobody makes them anymore though, the repros, which you can find
everywhere, are all way too big.
Originals are 3/4" tall backplates to fit on a 1" tall drawer.
The nearest you can find now are about 1 1/4".
Wish someone would start having the tiny ones made again.
Wonder what the minimum order would be?? Anybody headed to the
Chinese manufacturing district anyway?? We could work up a bulk order
maybe??
   yours Scott
