GGs,
Scott mentions a lack of bios. I checked and it appears mine has vaporized
So ...
I was a newbie to the WWW on or about 1995. (was using win3.1 on a 386) I
had been doing the BBS thing. I discovered
REC.WOODWORKING and all wasn't well. It seemed the fellowers over there were
more interesting in blasting other folks than
woodworking. I heard of a new group of kinder gentler folks who actually
talked about tools use and origin, even techniques
in woodworking. I joined the OLDTOOLS GROUP. At the time I was in the
process of reworking two old houses one about 30 years
old and one around 80-90 years old. I took out walls, pulled up floors,
replaced trim, etc. I made furniture for us and our
children. My day job at that time was maintenance in a major papermakers
mill. This was the kind of place galoots dream
about. We had five machines with steam turbines driving line shafts. My
present job is production worker in a facility that
builds boats for the US Navy. I make my living building steel hull boats I
spend my off time working wood as time permits.
I'm in the process off building a metal working shop. It has no electric
power going to it (a galoot kinda place).
