"Atkins Silver Steel saws may be easily distinguished by the 
beauty and fineness of their polish. The famous Damaskeen
and Mirror finishes were originated by Atkins, and are used
only on Silver Steel saws."

So it's a finish only. It's a simple low amplitude wavy pattern
parallel to the cutting edge.
