Lessee, where did this all begin? Oh yeah.

Went to Old Salem, NC for vacation about 5 years ago. Saw a gentleman in period
dress working on the spring pole lathe. Had a lot of wooden planes behind him
which he very graciously showed me. I remember he telling me things to look for
before purchasing old tools. There was a small cherry table there he had built
finished in shellac that I just loved.

While in NC we went to Durham and I picked up a book by Aldren Watson on Country
Furniture. I loved the furniture and the illustrations of the tools used to pr
oduce this furniture.

Then, back at home in the Atlanta area, I saw another book by Aldren Watson at H
ighland Hardware. You might have heard of it.....Hand Tools.

Well, then things get real fuzzy and I can't remember so good what happened next
. I do remember spending a bunch of money and turning the carport into a worksh
op. I keep getting these packages of tools from people on the List and I assure
you I can justify every purchase.

I am married with 1 child (2 ½). I work as a pharmacist at a large hospital in
Marietta, Ga (my place of birth & where I met my wife). I have met several grea
t friends in my area from the List (my wife looks at me real funny when I say I
 met him over the internet).

Thanks for the List,
Mark
