Another year is in the books and another one has begun.  The regular
fleas have been either no go cause of the weather or just nothing to be
had, but I've been hitting some other sources and as always there are
some good fresh user and collectible tools this time around.

PayPal is preferred (if you use it) on all items. It's easier for me to
ship items off of a paid PayPal invoice, especially First Class ones.

Checks and money orders are still welcome.

And remember........da more ya buy, the cheaper they fly!

First contact (that is e-mail, or phone) that says I want it gets it.
Prices do not include shipping.  All items are shipped with Delivery
Confirmation. Insurance, unless it is a big order or a very fragile item
is optional. Just let me know. Also, I am shipping a lot more stuff via
First Class mail. There will be a small amount added to the shipping
cover the cost of the padded mailer. I don't get them for free.

Please put your name and address in the message. Saves time and email
traffic!

Henry Disston & Sons No 1 12 Inch Try Square.  This weighs 12 oz
unboxed.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.  The
blade has a spot of light pitting at the top on the front at the end,
but the rest is clean and has almost all of the original finish.  There
are user initials stamped on the back at the end. The rulings are all
readable except for about 1/2" at the pitted spot.  The edges and
corners are fairly good.  The handle has some wear, dings, and stains.
This is true according to my reference square here.  This ain't minty,
but these bigger ones are sure getting few and far between any more.  $30.00

R Marples 7 1/2 Inch Jointers Mitre Square.  Measuring 7 1/2" long and
this weighs 5 oz unboxed.  There are two Robert Marples who worked as
jointer's tool makers in Sheffield from 1837 until 1860 and then the
firm became Robert Marples & Son who were in business from 1861 until
1931, but I think this is one of the earlier marks.  There is also a
crown stamp under the user initials.  This is in decent condition and
was cleaned by somebody else.  The blade has some spots of light
pitting.  The edges are fairly good.  The mahogany handle has some
dings, but everything is tight.  This ain't minty, but if it's as old as
I think that it is, it sure ain't ain't bad, and these guys sure do not
show up very often, at least around these here parts.  $30.00

Stanley No 20 10 Inch Try Square.  This weighs 9 oz unboxed.  This is in
reasonably good condition and was not cleaned, at least by me.  The
blade is good and almost all of the original bluing.  The edges are
good, but the top corner is dinged a little.  All the rulings are
readable.  The rosewood handle is also good save for a few tiny dings
and still has most of the original finish.  This is true according to my
reference square here.  This ain't perfect, but it sure ain't bad, and
it will get the job done.  $24.00

Early Disston Fancy Screw 14 Inch Adjustable Bevel Square.  The blade is
14" long, the handle is 8 3/16" high, and this weighs 7 1/4 oz unboxed.
This isn't signed, but few of these were.  This is in reasonably good
condition and was cleaned.  The blade has some light scuffs, but nothing
too bad patina wise, and still has most of the original gray finish.
The mahogany handle has some dings, stains, and there are user initials
on both sides.  The fancy locking screw does it's job.  This ain't
minty, but these bigger ones by any maker are sure getting few and far
between.  Just saying.  $35.00

Hand Forged Coopers Hoop Driver.  Measuring 8" long, the face is 2 3/16"
wide, and this weighs 1 lb 9 1/2 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the
maker.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There is a
little patina on the handle and head area, but nothing too bad.  The
face is good save for a few light dings on the side edges.  The striking
end had some mushrooming cleaned off prior to getting here and that is
fairly good.  I gotta say that finding one of these guys in this style
sure does not show up very often. $32.00

Stanley Bell System Straight Claw Hammer.  Measuring 13 1/2" overall,
the head is 6" long, the face is 1 1/16" in diameter, the claws are 1
7/16" wide at the tips, and this weighs 2 lbs 8 oz unboxed.  This is in
reasonably good condition and was cleaned.  The finish on the head is
worn and there is a little light rust staining, but nothing too bad
patina wise.  The face and claws are good.  The handle is original to
the tool and still has a wee bit of the decal.  That has some stains, a
few dings, and tiny bits of paint down in the grain, but it's solid, and
the head is on tight. This ain't pristine, but these tools got used
hard, and this one sure ain't bad.  $30

5/8" overall, the jaws are 3" long (straight across) and this weighs 1
lb 14 3/4 oz unboxed.  This is in reasonably good condition and was
cleaned.  The jaws are good save for a few spots of frosting and
staining.  They cut paper cleanly.  The joint is good.  The handles have
some wear to the finish.  This ain't pristine, but it's a quality tool
that will get the job done.  $20.00

face is 1 1/4" in diameter, the peen is 1 3/8" wide, and this weighs 1
lb 13 1/4 oz unboxed.  There is a very faint mark on side, this is
probably either a Stanley or a Plumb, but I can't read it. This is in
decent condition and was cleaned.  There is some overall light pitting,
and patina, including dings and cut marks on the sides.  The face has
some light pitting and dings.  The peen is good other than a small chip
on the one end.  The eye is good.  This ain't the prettiest, but drop it
on a handle and it will get the job done.  $17.00

are 1 1/8" deep, 1/16" in diameter at the tips, and this weighs 4 1/4 oz

ain't much in the way of patina, other than the user initials on both
side of the joint.  The jaws have some dings and light pitting, but they
close up tight and flush.  The joint is good with no play.  This ain't
minty, but it is a quality tool that will get the job done.  $15.00

Dunlap Aluminium Body Saw Filer Or Jointer With File.  Measuring 3 3/4"
long, 1 3/4" high, and this all weighs 4 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to
the maker, but Dunlap was the only one that I know of that made an
aluminium body one.  This is in decent condition and was cleaned.  The
body has some light funky going, but nothing too bad.  The screw works.
The file has some rust staining and a little wear down the centers, but
it's still got lots of tooth left.  This ain't minty, but it will get
the job done.  $20.00

6" long, 2" wide, 1" high, and this all weighs 15 3/4 oz unboxed.  This
is in used, but reasonably good condition and was not cleaned.  There is
a little wear on the faces, but nothing too bad, and they are both
flat.  All the edges are good.  The original box has some stains and
wear, but it's solid.  This ain't minty, but it it sure ain't bad, and
it will get the job done.  $15.00

Warranted Cast Steel 9 Inch Drawknife Or Draw Knife.  Measuring 14 1/4"
overall, the blade is 9" long, 15/16" and 1 1/16" wide at the ends, 7/8"
at the center, and this weighs 1 lb unboxed.  The mark is partial and
that's all that I can read.  This is in decent condition and was
cleaned.  Somebody else also did a lot of work on this guy. The steel
area of the blade has some frosting, scuffs, and some dots of light
pitting, but nothing too bad.  There was some mushrooming dressed off
the top at some point.  The front also has some light pitting and
patina.  The handles are good replacements and are on tight.  The frame
has a repair on the back on top of the one handle, but it's solid.  This
ain't pretty or perfect, but it will get the job done.  $28.00

Uncommon Wood Handled Spofford 8 Inch Sweep Iron Brace.  Measuring 10"
long, the sweep is 8", and this weighs 1 lb 5 oz unboxed.  Not signed as
to the maker. this might be one of the later Fray wood handled models,
but it sure doesn't look like any that I've seen. This is in decent
condition and was cleaned.  There is some overall frosting and light
patina.  The chuck is good.  The locking screw head has some wear, but
the threads are good, and it holds.  The grip and pad, might be either
black walnut or mahogany.  The grip does have some dings and play
between the pewter rings.  The pad also has some dings.  That has a few
light sticky spots as it's being turned, but it does work, and was
oiled.  This ain't perfect, but it's a solid tool that will get the job
done.  $32.00

Taylor Patent 1836 Iron 6 1/2 Inch Bitstock.  Measuring 10 1/2" long,
the sweep is 6 1/2", and this weighs 1 lb 3 1/2 oz unboxed.
Jeremy Taylor of Hebron, CT was granted Pat. No. 9,814X on June 30, 1836
for the design of this tool.  These were made by a number of makers and
this one isn't signed.  This is in decent condition and was cleaned.
Overall the body is fairly good, save for some spots of light pitting.
The chuck is solid with no cracks.  The locking tab joint pint was
replaced with a cooper one at some point in time.  The spring is a
little weak, but the tab is good.  There is a hole on the back side of
the chuck where it looks like a screw was going to go, but it was never
tapped.  The pin that keeps the pad on the shaft was also replaced at
some point with a nail.  There is some play on the shaft, but it doesn't
come off. That was oiled.  This ain't minty, but then tools of this age
rarely are and these smaller sweep ones aren't very common either.  $32.00

9/16" long, the face is 1 3/16" in diameter, the peen is 1 1/16" wide,
and this weighs 1 lb 4 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker, there
are shop numbers stamped on both sides.  This is in decent condition and
was cleaned.  This guy has had a busy life. There is some overall light
patina going.  The face has some light dings and scuff marks and the rim
was dressed at some point in time.  The peen was also dressed down to an
edge and there is a little chipping there.  I did run a file over some
dings on the insides of the eye, they ain't perfect, but they are better
than they were.  There also are some scuff marks on the underside of the
eye.  This sure ain't pretty or perfect, but these guys sure do not show
up very often.  $17.00

(straight across), the head area is 1 11/16" wide, about 7/32" thick,
and this weighs 1 lb 1 1/4 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker.
This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.  There is some
light roughness left over from when this was made, but overall nothing
too bad patina wise.  The underside of the head area was polished at the
tip.  I'll tell ya what, this might not have a fancy maker's name, but
it's a solid and well made tool, and one that sure does not show up very
often.  $20.00

pin punched on the one side.  This is in reasonably good condition and
was cleaned by someone else.  There are some scuff marks all around and
a few small spots of light pitting.  The face is good save for some
scuffing.  The peen is also good.  The eye is ready to drop on a
handle.  This ain't perfect, but it's a good sized tool for the small
jobs.  A working old hammer head for sure!  $15.00

overall, and this weighs 3 1/2 oz unboxed.  This is in decent condition
and was cleaned.  There is a patch of light pitting for the first 1/2"
of the back, but after that it's fairly clean. The top also has some
light pitting up by the edge.  The socket has some frosting.  The handle
is a replacement.  That has some dings and wear, but it's solid.  This
ain't the prettiest, but it will get the job done.  $17.00

C S Osborne No 149 2 3/8 Inch Leather Arch Punch.  This weighs 1 lb 13
3/4 oz unboxed.  This is in reasonably good condition, it was cleaned
and refinished by someone else.  The paint job is worn in a few spots,
but I don't see much in the way of patina underneath. The edge is good
and is fairly sharp.  The striking end has a few light dings.  This
ain't minty, but it's a whole lot cheaper than buying a new one.  $55.00

H H Stricker Hand Forged Felling Axe Head.  Measuring 5 15/16" long
(across the center), the edge is 3 3/4" high (straight across), and this
weighs 2 lbs 9 3/4 oz unboxed.  H H Stricker was a Vinemount PA (Berks
County) blacksmith who made tools from 1884 until 1896.  This is in
decent condition and was cleaned.  The wrought iron body has some dings
and light patina.  There is about 1/2" (at the center) of the steel bit
still left.  The poll does have some mushrooming and chipping.  I did
rule file over a few of the sharper spots there. The eye is fairly good,
the forge weld lines are visible at the front and rear on the underside,
but it's not cracked that I can see.  The one wing does have some dings
along the edge that travel into the eye.  This ain't pristine, and it
sure ain't got that kind of price tag either, but it is a very
collectible tool.  $65.00

back of the head and some lighter pitting on the top down by the peen.
The face is fairly good, save for some light dings and a few tiny chips
on the edge.  The peen is good.  The handle is original to the tool.
That has some dings, stains, 3 small notches filed on the front, and a
small hanging or strap hole at the end, but it's solid.  This ain't

This is in decent condition and was cleaned.  There is some overall
light pitting and patina.  The tops of the jaws were dressed a little at
some point.  The jaws close up tight and flush across the tops.  The
cross hatching is worn, but visible.  The screw works and the spring is
fairly good.  This ain't the prettiest, but it will get the job done.

head is 3 1/4" long, the face is 7/8" in diameter, the peen is 13/16" in
diameter, and this weighs 12 1/4 oz total unboxed.  This has the 1960's
blue paint job and the first owner pin-punched March 1961 on the back of
the head and 73 on the front.  Other than that, this is in reasonably
good condition and was cleaned.  There is a little staining and some
wear to the finish, but nothing too bad. The face and peen both have
some light dings.  The handle looks to be the original one.  That also
has some dings, stains, and a partial drill hole at the one end, but
it's solid.  This ain't pristine, but it does have some history, and it

There are some dings and a few spots of light pitting and patina.  The
face has light pitting and some tiny chips around the edges.  The claws
are good.  The eye is also good with no cracks.  This ain't minty, but

wrought iron is visible.  The jaws are fairly good and are grooved down
the centers.  The joint has a little wiggle, but the rivet is good.  The
handles have some slight bends, but that is an easy fix, if you know a
good blacksmith.  This ain't minty, and it sure ain't for knocking out
horseshoes, but for the smaller work, it will get the job done.  $19.00

side has some user added rulings on the lower side.  The handle also has
some frosting and light patina.  There are some dings on the back and
pin punched user initials.  The inside of the handle has some score

Merit No 80 Style Cabinet Scraper Plane.  Measuring 11" long. the blade
is 2 13/16" wide, and this weighs 1 lb 8 1/4 oz unboxed. Merit was a
brand name used by Sears, this looks like it was made by E C Stearns for
them.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.  The sole
has some factory machining marks and a few light scratches.  The
japanning is original and 95% present.  There is a little funky on there
and a few dings.  The one handle has a small chip or casting flaw on the
side, there is japanning on it, so I'm pretty sure it's a flaw.  The
blade is good save for some frosting. All the screws work and were
oiled.  This ain't pristine, but it's a solid tool by a quality maker
that will get the job done.  $30.00

Goodell-Pratt 4 Inch Machinist Divider.  Measuring 4 3/8" long and this
weighs 1 1/4 oz unboxed.  This is in reasonably good condition and was
not cleaned.  There is some staining and a little frosting on the legs,
but nothing too bad.  The joint is good and holds position.  The tips
are also good.  This ain't pristine, but it sure ain't bad, and it will
get the job done.  $16.00

Vintage Machinist 3 Inch Outside Caliper.  Measuring 3 7/8" long and
this weighs 3/4 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker.  This is in
decent condition and was cleaned.  There is some light pitting on both
sides of the joint.  The tips are good and the joint holds position.
This ain't the prettiest, but it will get the job done. $14.00

Vintage Jewelers Pin Vise.  Measuring 5 9/16" long, the chuck is 1/16"
when open, 1/32" when closed, and this weighs 1 oz unboxed. Not signed
as to the maker.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.
The chuck and jaws are good.  The handle looks to be black japanned
wood.  That has few dings and some wear to the finish.  The handle is
hollow and clear all the way through to the chuck.  This might not have
a fancy maker's name, but it's a neat tool that will get the job done.

Forged 10 lb Sledge Hammer Head.  Measuring 7 5/8" long. the one face is
1 3/4" square across the center. the other one is 1 3/4" wide, 1 7/8"
high, and this weighs 9 lbs 15 oz unboxed.  The mark is faint, but this
is either a Woodings Verona or an ATHA.  This is in decent condition and
was cleaned.  There is some pitting, mainly on the underside, and some
dings and cut marks on the body.  Both faces have some light pitting and
dings, and the other has a small chip off of the edge.  The punched eye
has some crusty on the inside, but it's solid.  This ain't the
prettiest, but it's solid older tool that will get the job done.  $20.00

F G Pearson Sheffield 1 1/2 Inch Plane Iron & Cap.  Measuring 7" long, 1
1/2" wide across the edge, and this weighs 9 oz unboxed. Francis George
Pearson was a Sheffield England edge tool maker who worked from 1821
until at least 1911.  This is NOS, that's New Old Stock, but it did need
a little cleaning to get rid of some recent patina.  The face is clean.
The edge has the factory grind, but will need just a wee bit of
finishing.  The cap iron and screw are good.  This is a great iron for
either restoring that old plane or building a new one around it.  $24.00

L S Starrett No 608 12 Inch Advertising Machinist Rule.  This weighs 2
1/4 oz unboxed.  From what I can find, the Grand Rapids Dry Kiln was in
business in the early part of the 20th Century (1910 - 1920's or so).
This is ruled in 50ths and 100ths on the front and 10ths and 20ths on
the back.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.  The
front has some light scuffs and a few stained spots. The back has some
small pitting and frosted areas.  All the rulings are readable and the
edges and corners are good.  This ain't pristine, but this is not a
common rule, and it will get the job done.  $20.00

Henry Disston & Sons 8 Inch Adjustable Bevel Square.  This weighs 3 1/2
oz unboxed.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.  The
blade is good save for some user initials on the back and has almost all
of the original bluing.  The edges are goodm but the tip is worn a
little.  The handle has some dings and more user initials and there is a
little two tone grain on the side.  The locking screw works.  This ain't
pristine, but it sure ain't bad, and it will get the job done.  $18.00

Armstrong No 7-0 Small Ball Peen Hammer.  Measuring 9 7/16" overall, the
head is 2" long, the face is 9/16" in diameter, the peen is 1/2" in
diameter, I'm guessing the head to be 2 1/2 oz, and this weighs 3 3/4 oz
total unboxed.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.
There is some wear to the finish on the head.  The face has some tiny
dings and the peen has a little wear on the end.  The handle is original
to the tool.  Somebody sanded down the end a little, probably to get rid
of a chipped area, but it's solid and the head is on tight. This ain't
minty, but it's a neat smaller tool that will get the job done.  $22.00

guys.  $18.00

Vintage 1/4 Inch Sash Paring Chisel.  Measuring 8 11/16" from the edge
to the end of the socket, the blade is 6 3/16" long, this is 12 3/16"
overall, and this weighs 4 1/2 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker.
This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. The back has a
spot of light pitting up by the edge and another area about 1/2 way
down, but it's clean for the most part.  The sides and top also have
some spots of light pitting.  The socket has some frosting and I did
take some mushrooming off of the end.  The handle is a good
replacement.  This ain't pristine, but it will get the job done.  $17.00

L S Starrett No 567 Style Machinist V-Block & Clamp.  The block is 4"
long, a little under 2" wide and high, and this all weighs 2 lbs 9 oz
unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker, this might be a Starrett, but I
have seen others that were shop made.  This is in decent condition and
was cleaned.  There are some overall scuffs on the block.  The V has
some drill marks.  There is a small cut into the block at the foot
section.  The edges and corners are good.  The clamp is a replacement.
That also has some light patina.  The screw is good and travels the full
distance.  $32.00

light patina.  All the size markings are readable and all the teeth are
present.  This is is definitely not a commonly found tool by any
stretch.  $45.00

Vintage Sargent 6 Inch Carpenters Nail Pulling Pliers.  Measuring 6
1/16" long, the jaws are 13/16" deep, 9/16" wide at the tips, and this
weighs 5 1/2 oz unboxed.  This is in reasonably good condition and was
cleaned.  This is a forged tool and there is a little patina left over
from that.  The jaws have a little frosting and a few very tiny dings,
but are good overall and close up tight and flush.  The joint has a wee
bit of wiggle.  The tack claw is good.  The pry bar tip is twisted a
little.  This ain't perfect, but it is a handy tool that will get the
job done.  $15.00

other than a few stains and light dings from the screw.  The point is
good.  The head has a little wear to the face and some stains.  The
locking screw has a couple of chipped threads on the end, but it works
and holds.  This ain't pristine, but it will get the job done.  $15.00

The body is good other than some staining at the front and some light
dings.  The sole and boxing are good, other than some tiny bits of paint
up in the grain, and the mouth is tight.  The iron is clean on the
face.  The wedge is also good other than some staining.  This ain't
pristine, but it's a solid tool that will get the job done.  $26.00
