I was out watching Shakespeare.
Shakespeare, his wife, and the Dog.
An absolutely brilliant production.
Preceding which, i was involved in cutting up our living room carpet and convey
it, and the underlay, to the tip. A busy day. So I missed the Zoom meetings.
Mind, I’m usually a few hours away anyhow.
But this morning I am still at work on restoring the ebony box. My eventual
plan is to plug the existing screw holes, and remount hinges in ‘correct’
positions to allow the lid to open and close. I have to find some 3/8 slot head
countersunk steel screws to match the originals. The difficult bit of
restorations these days seems to be finding what should be everyday items. Time
was when every village - at least every town, would have items like honges and
screws available, in all sizes, even slightly unusual ones. (sigh)
