In my life Sandy Moss has been one of the "big 4".
  Sandy
  George Langford
  Bob Nelson (founder of DATAMP)
  Jim "the old Millrat" Thompson

These 4 men made a tremendous impact in my life.

Here is one of Sandy's famous receipts. He'd write on the back of a
business card in tiny beautiful script.

That Disston #12 for 10 bucks was a precious, apple handled, 12 point
22" panel saw in lovely condition. For a dime.
The Disston #7 was a giant oversized rip saw that I eventually sent to
my pal Brian Buckner for his brilliant overhand rip saw project.

In older times, Sandy was the poor man's savior. When old tools were
literally gushing everywhere on the east coast, most other dealers
shipping across the country had the attitude of .........So what if I
get it for nothing, you can't. You can pay through the nose.
And you damn well better be grateful about it.

But Sandy always charged a flat rate percentage of what he paid.
Bless you Sandy Moss. You let me into a world I had little other chance
of entering.
   yours scott
