275764 Tony Seo 2022‑06‑20 FS: June Jewels 2022 Chapter 3
Round three for June.  Summer has been slow to get into full bloom here
this year, it was 50F both mornings at the flea market this weekend and
the wind was blowing so hard, that I had to dig out some gloves to keep
the old fingers working.  Geez.  But pickings were good and there is a
fresh batch of goodies this time around, lots of machinist items and
some other tools of interest as well.

PayPal is preferred (if you use it) on all items. It's easier for me to

ship items off of a paid PayPal invoice, especially First Class ones.

Checks and money orders are still welcome.

And remember........da more ya buy, the cheaper they fly!

First contact (that is e-mail, or phone) that says I want it gets it.
Prices do not include shipping.  All items are shipped with Delivery
Confirmation. Insurance, unless it is a big order or a very fragile item
is optional. Just let me know. Also, I am shipping a lot more stuff via
First Class mail. There will be a small amount added to the shipping
cover the cost of the padded mailer. I don't get them for free.

Please put your name and address in the message. Saves time and email
traffic!

13/16" long (from the tips to the top of the joint) and this weighs 1
1/2 oz unboxed.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.
There ain't much in the way of patina to fuss about.  The spring and
tips are good.  The quick set nut works and the threads are good save
for some staining.  This ain't minty, but it's pretty darn close.  $20.00

of the joint.  The jaws have a few small spots of rust, but all the
teeth are present and are crispy.  The lap joint is good.  This ain't
perfect, but it will get the job done.  $17.00

73 inside caliper measuring 6 15/16" long, on the right is a No. 79

These are in reasonably good condition and were cleaned. The inside
caliper has some light scuffs and a stain on the legs. The outside has
some frosting and a user name marked on the front. The joints and tips
are good.  The inside does have the quick set nut, the outside has the
regular nut, and both work just fine. These ain't pristine, but overall
they sure ain't bad, and they will get the job done.

weighs 6 oz unboxed.  This is in reasonably good condition and was no
cleaned.  The case has some light scuffs.  The blades have some spots of

reasonably good condition and was cleaned.  There ain't much in the way
of patina to fuss about.  The jaws are good and close up tight and
flush.  The lap joint is a little stiff and I did put some oil down in
there, but there is no play.  This ain't pristine, but it's a top

Whitcher Crispen No 3 Cobblers Hammer Head.  Measuring 3 1/2" long, the
face is 1 9/16" in diameter, the peen is 1 3/16" wide, and this weighs
15 1/4 oz unboxed.  This is in decent condition and was cleaned.  There
is some frosting, spots of light pitting, some dings, and user initials
pin punched loudly on both sides of the eye.  The face has some wear,
dings, and the start of some mushrooming.  The peen also has some wear
and mushrooming, and I did run file over some of the sharper bits on the
underside.  The eye has some light dings on the inside at the top, but
it's solid with no cracks.  This ain't pristine by any stretch, but it
is a solid old tool that will get the job done.  $17.00

Early Hand Forged Hammer Poll Carpenters Adze Head.  Measuring 7 3/4"
long (straight across), 4 1/8" wide across the edge, and this weighs 2
lbs 3 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker.  This is in decent
condition and was cleaned.  There is some overall pitting and patina.
The steel bit has some light pitting and the forge weld line where it
meets the wrought iron body is visible, but it's not cracked.  The edge
was dressed recently and is good.  The eye does have a few small checks
on the front and back, but nothing too deep.  That won't be a problem
with a correctly shaped handle.  The hammer poll has some dings and a
little bit of mushrooming.  This ain't pretty or perfect, but tools of
this age rarely are.  $30.00

this weighs 3 1/4 oz unboxed.  This is in decent condition and was
cleaned.  The flutes have some light patina down inside and some very
light dings on the edges, but are sharp to the touch.  The head and
handle are good.  This ain't pristine, but it will get the job done.  $14.00

TWO Jennings & Griffen No 5 Socket Firmer Chisels.  The one on the left
is 3/8" wide, measures 7 3/4" from the edge to the end of the socket,
the blade is 5 5/16" long, the one on the right is 1" wide, measures 8
9/16" from the edge to the end of the socket, the blade is 5 1/2" long,
and they weigh 11 1/4 oz unboxed.  These are in fair condition and were
cleaned by someone else.  The 3/8" has some light pitting up by the
edge, but after that it's fairly good. The 1" has some light scuffs and
some dings on the edges.  The top of the 3/8" also has some pitting and
the 1" has some scuffs and dings.  The socket on the 3/8" has some light
pitting and the 1" does have some mushrooming on the outside.  They will
both need handles.  These ain't pretty or perfect, but for the money and
a bit of work, they will get the job done.  $15.00

(from the tips to the top of the joint) and this weighs 13 1/2 oz
unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker.  This is in decent condition and
was cleaned.  There is some overall pitting and patina.  The 3 finger (2
+ 1) joint is a little loose, but it does open up completely.  The
locking screw was replaced at some point and a nut welded on the top of
the leg.  This ain't the prettiest job, but it works.  The one tip is a
little shorter than the other one and there is a chisel mark on the
side.  Why, you ask?  I have not a clue.  This ain't minty, but then
tools of this age rarely are, but this guy will get the job done.  $30.00

TWO L S Starrett No 59 A Machinist Trammel Points.  The steel points are
9" long, and the points and bodies weigh 11 1/2 oz unboxed. These are in
reasonably good condition, the only cleaning was to pretty up the steel
points a bit.  The heads have some staining and shop patina and there
are user initials on the bottoms.  All the screws work.  The steel
points are good and quite pointy.  These ain't pristine, but they are
quality tools that will get the job done.  $45.00

This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.  The legs have
some frosting, but nothing too bad.  The joint and tips are good.  The
threads on the screw have some dings pretty far out, but the nut works
and holds.  This ain't pristine and it sure ain't got that kind of price
tag, but it will get the job done.  $40.00

1/2 oz unboxed.  From what I can find, Frederick H. Cone & Company were
New York based importers, looks to have been of artist supplies, in the
1930's and he passed away in 1945.  This is in good condition and was
not cleaned.  There are a couple lightly stained spots and some scuffs.
The brass has some light patina. All the rulings are readable and the
edges and corners are good. This is a neat older rule to say the least.

is good to go.  This ain't minty, but it sure ain't bad, and it will get

some frosting on the blade and shaft.  The tip has some wear, but was
never messed with.  The handle scales have some dings and stains, but
are solid and on tight.  The end of the handle has some light dings.

are also user initials scratch marked on the back.  The plating on the
blade clamp also has some wear and rusting.  That does work and still
has the rubber strip on the inside.  The workbench clamp screw also
works.  This ain't pretty or perfect, but it will get the job done.  $22.00

Keen Kutter No 84 8 Inch Sweep Brace.  This weighs  2 lbs 5 1/4 oz
unboxed.  This was made by the John S. Fray & Co. for Keen Kutter.  This
is in decent condition and was cleaned.  The plating on the arms is worn
and there is a little frosting.  The plating on the chuck and ratchet is
also worn.  The chuck and jaws are good and the ratchet works in both
directions and the locked position.  Both of them could stand a wee bit
of oil.  The grip and pad both have some dings, but they are solid and
spin freely.  This ain't perfect, but it will get the job done.  $24.00

pitting on both sides.  The edge is fairly good and was dressed

dings and had some mushrooming toned down at some point in time.  The
handle is old and could be original to the tool.  That has some dings,
stains, wear to the green paint finish, and some chipping at the end,
but it's solid enough to use.  The head is on tight, at least setting
here.  This ain't the prettiest, but it will get the job done.  $24.00

this weighs 1 lb 14 1/2 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker, this is
probably a White, but the patina ate the mark.  This is in decent
condition and was cleaned.  There is some overall light pitting and a
few deeper spots, but it ain't like bark removal is an indoor sport for
the most part.  The head and edges are fairly good.  The socket does
have a visible forge weld line, but it feels solid enough and it ain't

Stanley No 5 1/2 C Type 16 Jack Plane.  This weighs 6 lbs 1/2 oz
unboxed.  This is a Type 16 and was made by Stanley between 1933 and
1941.  This is in decent condition and was cleaned.  The sides have some
light pitting and rust etching.  The sole also has some light pitting.
The japanning is original and about 95% present.  There is a little
funky that didn't want to come off.  The lever cap has some dots of
rust, but has almost all of the plating.  The chipbreaker has a couple
of pitted and frosted spots.  The blade has some pitting and rust
etching on the exposed areas and the back.  The cutting face has a band
of light pitting and a few dots, but it's clean for the most part, and
there is lots to work with.  The blade will need a sharpening.  The tote
and knob are good save for a few tiny dings and have all of the original
finish plus a coat of wax. All the screws work and were oiled.  This
ain't pretty or perfect, and it sure ain't got that kind of price tag,
but it will get the job done.  $110.00

Stanley SW No 80 Cabinet Scraper Plane & Orig Blade.  This weighs 1 lb 6
1/4 oz unboxed.  This has the Christian Bodmer Pat. No. 1,098,706 issued
on June 2, 1914 and Design Pat. No. D45,983 issued on June 23, 1914
patent dates on the blade clamp bar.  This is in decent condition and
was cleaned.  The sole has some scratches and light dings.  The
japanning is original and about 80% present. There is a little bit of
the decal showing on the front.  The blade clamp has some light patina,
but still has almost all of the plating.  The SW blade is short, but
could be used.  The working face is fairly clean, but the edges would
need a tune-up.  All the screws work and were oiled.  This ain't minty,
but it will get the job done.  $38.00

Stanley SW No 12 1/2 Scraper Plane Body To Collect Or Restore.  This
weighs 2 lbs 15 1/2 oz unboxed.  The blade has the SW logo, there is
nothing on the body.  This is in reasonably good condition and was
cleaned.  The sides have some frosting, stains, and a few dings. The one
has a notch filed on the side and there is a corresponding notch on the
blade clamp, this was probably to mark the last user's favorite
position.  The sole has some frosting and light scratches, but nothing
too bad.  The rosewood sole is MIA.  The mouth looks wide, but that's
how this guy was made, there are cast pieces on the inside that support
the clamp that go the full length of the mouth. The japanning is
original and about 90% on the body.  There is some glue residue and a
few small bits of paint that didn't want to come off.  The blade clamp
is good and travels the full distance.  The SW blade is good save for a
little staining and somebody polished up the one end.  The blade will
need a sharpening.  The handle has some dings, stains, and wear, but
it's solid.  All the screws work and were oiled.  This will need some
work, but as is, this will get the job done.  $75.00

face is 1 5/8" square, the peen is 1 5/8" wide, and this weighs 3 lbs
unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker, there is a user name on the back.
This is in decent condition and was cleaned.  There are some dings and
light pitting on the head.  The face has some dings, wear, a few cut
marks, and the start of some mushrooming.  There is a thin check
starting behind the face on the one side, but it's not deep and doesn't
travel to the beveled areas.  The peen has some light roughness, but
nothing too bad.  The eye had some dinging cleaned out at some points
and some scuff marks inside from where a previous handle was removed
(not by me), but it's solid.  This ain't perfect, but it's a solid tool
that will get the job done.  $19.00

very light dings, a whisker of mushrooming, and one tiny chip on the
edge.  The peen is also good. The handle is old and could be the
original one.  That has some dings, stains, and wear, but it's solid.
The head is on tight sitting here.  This ain't perfect, but it is a
quality tool that will get the job done.  $17.00

japanning is original and 95% present.  There is a little funky on there

side, there is japanning on it, so I'm pretty sure it's a flaw.  The
blade is good save for some frosting. All the screws work and were
oiled.  This ain't pristine, but it's a solid tool by a quality maker

are faint and not very readable for the most part.  The English rulings
are readable and there also some noticeable scratches on that side.  The
edges have a few tiny dings, but are good for the most part and the
corners are good as well. The handle also has some dings and a few bits
of paint down in the grain.  This ain't minty, and it sure ain't got
