274555 Tony Seo 2021‑09‑13 FS: 2021 The Book Of September Page 1
First list for the month of September, which is about 1/2 gone already
and I ain't gotta clue as to where it went.  There a bunch of fresh
goods, some good Stanley planes, machinist, and the run of that and this.

PayPal is preferred (if you use it) on all items. It's easier for me to

ship items off of a paid PayPal invoice, especially First Class ones.
Checks and money orders are still welcome.

And remember........da more ya buy, the cheaper they fly!

First contact (that is e-mail, or phone) that says I want it gets it.
Prices do not include shipping.  All items are shipped with Delivery
Confirmation. Insurance, unless it is a big order or a very fragile item
is optional. Just let me know. Also, I am shipping a lot more stuff via
First Class mail. There will be a small amount added to the shipping
cover the cost of the padded mailer. I don't get them for free.

Please put your name and address in the message. Saves time and email
traffic!

that down.  There is some overall light pitting and patina.  The jaws
have some file and scuff marks, but they close up tight.  The cross
hatching on the faces is worn, but visible.  The joint for the movable
jaw is good.  The main screw is also good, I did replace the washer
because the original one was cracked.  The spinner for the bench clamp
screw is bent, but at least it's there.  The clamp screw has the toothed
top piece which is usually missing on these guys.  This ain't minty, but
these guys are sure getting hard to come by.  $70.00

nothing too bad.  The peen is good.  The handle looks to be original to

clean other than some staining on the exposed areas and there is lots to
work with.  The edge has some tiny dings and will need a sharpening.

Uncommon L S Starrett No 44 6 Inch Double Caliper.  Measuring 6 1/4"
long and this weighs 3 1/4 oz unboxed.  This has one of the earlier
Starrett marks.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.
There are some scuffs and frosting on the arms and a user mark on the
one upper arm.  The joints are all good and hold position.  The caliper
tips are good save for a little patina. The one divider tip is a little
shorter than the other one and is slightly bent.  This ain't pristine,
but these guys rarely are, and overall this one sure ain't bad.  $28.00

head is  7 1/8" long, the edges are 1 1/4" wide, and this weighs 1 lb 2
1/4 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition
and was cleaned.  There is some light pitting and rusting on the head.
The one edge is good, the other does have some mushrooming on the top
and underside.  The punched eye is good.  The handle is old and might be
the original one. That has some dings, stains, but it's solid and on
tight, at least setting here.  This ain't pristine, but these guys sure
have been few and far between of late.  $24.00

the maker.  This is in good condition and was lightly cleaned.  The tip

RARE Bitstock Co Rose 1867 Patent 7 Inch Brace.  Measuring 11 7/8" long,
the sweep is 7", and this weighs 1 4 1/4 oz unboxed. Clemens B. Rose of
Sunderland, MA was granted Pat. No. 63,944 on April 16, 1867 for the
design of this tool.  This is marked Bitstock Co, Greenfield, Ms (the
mark is kind of over or double struck) which is the original maker of
this tool prior to Millers Falls acquiring it and marking them starting
in 1868.  The patent date is also wrong.  This is in good condition for
being 153 years old and was cleaned.  The frame is good save for a wee
bit of frosting.  The chuck and jaws are good, but it does take some
futzing with to get it to hold a bit properly.  The grip is good and is
fixed (that is how these were made).  The pad has some frosting on the
outside and a few dots of paint on the inside, but it spins freely.
This is about as nice of an example of this tool that you will find and
Millers Falls never made this in a 7" sweep.  $85.00

fair condition and was cleaned.  There is some overall pitting on the
head.  The edges are good.  The stacked leather washer handle is a

slag chipping hammer, it's way too thin for that kind of work.  This is
in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.  There ain't much in the
way of patina.  Both edges will need a touch up.  The punched eye is

tool and Laroy S. Starrett of Athol, MA was granted Pat. No. 642,170 on
Jan. 30, 1900 for the design of the split nut.  This is in decent
condition and was cleaned.  There is some frosting on the arms and a
little funky on the inside of the joint.  The spring and joint are
good.  The tips don't meet quite flush when closed.  The nut turns okay,
but the quick set doesn't want to work.  This is missing the ball on the
end of the screw. This sure ain't minty, but then tools that are 100

patina, but nothing out of the ordinary for a tool of this age.  The tip

reasonably condition and was not cleaned, at least by me.  There ain't

be good with no cracks that I can see.  The handle looks to be original

it a shot of the shiny stuff.  There ain't much patina to fuss about.
The face has some light dings, wear, and a couple of tiny chips around
the edge.  The peen also has a little light roughness and had some
mushrooming toned down. The handle is good save for a few stains and the
head is on tight.  This ain't gotta a fancy name, but it will get the
job done.  $18.00

Blacksmith 1 3/4 lb Straight Peen Hammer Head.  Measuring 4 3/4" long,
the face is 1 1/2" in diameter, the peen is 1 3/16" high, and this
weighs 1 lb 12 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker. This is in
decent condition and was cleaned.  There is some patina and lots of
dings on both sides of the eye.  The face also has some dings and cut
marks and there is a whisker of mushrooming. The peen has some light
dings.  I did clean some dings out from the inside of the eye and that
is good to go.  This ain't pretty or perfect, but it will get the job
done.  $18.00

Small Blacksmith Anvil Cutting Hardy Or Hardie.  Measuring 2 7/8" high,
the edge is a hair under 1" wide, the shaft is 3/4" square, and this
weighs 8 1/2 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker. This is in decent
condition and was cleaned.  The finish is worn a bit and there are some
tiny bits of paint, besides the original green.  The edge is good as is
the shaft.  This sure ain't for making horseshoes, but for the small
jobs it will get the job done.  $25.00

and this weighs 1 3/4 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker.  This is
in decent condition and was cleaned. There is some light patina on both

the center), the edge is 3 9/16" high (straight across), and this weighs
1 lb 8 1/2 oz unboxed.  This is in decent condition and was cleaned.
There still some of the original silver finish.  The edge has some tiny
dings and is slightly concave.  The hammer poll is good.  I did run a
file over some dings at the top of the eye and that is good to go.  This
ain't minty, but it will get the job done.  $15.00

Carpenters 3 Piece 12 Inch Combination Square.  This weighs 11 1/2 oz
unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker, the rule and center head are
marked Made In USA, so I will take a flying leap and speculate that the
square head as well.  This is ruled in 16ths and 32nds on the front and
8ths and 16ths on the back.  This is in reasonably good condition and
was cleaned by someone else who also likes the shiny stuff..sigh.  The
rule has a few very light spots of pitting, but it's clean for the most
part.  All the rulings are readable and the edges and corners are good.
The square head has a little wear to the finish.  The machined faces
have some staining and the mitre face has a couple of very small pitted
spots.  The level is good and the scribe is present. The center head has
some visible machining marks on the inside.  Both locking screws work.
This ain't gotta fancy name, but it will get the job done.  $28.00

E Seybold Ohio Wooden Match Groove Or Plow Plane.  There is no size
mark, but this measures 3/8" from the inside of the fence to the skate,
and this weighs 15 oz unboxed.  Emmanuel F Seybold was a Cincinnati OH
plane and tool maker who worked from 1836 until 1852.  This is in
reasonably good condition and was cleaned.  Note this is straight, any
bending you see is because of camera lens distortion.  There are some
light stains, dings, a couple of tiny dots of paint, and a few very thin
checks, but overall nothing too bad.  The skate has some light patina.
The W Butcher iron has a little frosting on the cutting face.  The wedge
has a thin check, but it doesn't go down to far.  This ain't perfect and
I don't have the tongue plane to go with this, but this is a handy size
to have around.  $20.00

Stanley No 18 Block Plane Knuckle Lever Cap.  This weighs 4 3/4 oz
unboxed.  This is in as found condition and was not cleaned. There is
some plating loss on the front and a few dots and spots, but the plating
is 85% present.  The joint is good.  There is a little funky on the
underside.  This ain't minty, but it will get the job done.  $16.00

weighs 1 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker, this is just marked
Made In USA.  This is in decent condition and was cleaned.  There is
some frosting and the plating is pretty much good.  The rulings are
readable and the tips are good, save for the patina.  The joint is good
and holds position.  This ain't pristine, but it will get the job done.

Radiac Double Sided Sharpening Stone.  Measuring 8" long, 2" wide, 1"
high, and this weighs 1 lb 7 3/4 oz unboxed.  This is NOS (New Old
Stock), but I did wash a little gunk off of it.  It feels like a medium
and fine grit.  There are some stains, but both faces show no use or
wear.  The edges and corners are crispy.  The company is still in
business, but I don't see that they are still making this one.  $23.00

Wood Handle Hand Forged Slater Slate Roof Ripper.  Measuring 25 3/8"
long and this weighs 1 lb 14 1/2 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the
maker.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.  There is
a little overall light patina, but nothing too bad.  The head is good
with no cracks that I can see.  The wood handle has some dings and
stains, but it's solid and on tight.  I tried the nut, but it don't want
to move, and I didn't want to mess it up trying too hand.  This ain't
perfect, but it is a well made tool that will get the job done.  $30.00

Uncommon Keen Kutter Rotating Head Leather Belt Punch.  Measuring 9"
long and this weighs 13 3/4 oz unboxed.  This is in reasonably good
condition and was cleaned.  There is a little staining, but nothing too
bad overall.  The tips are all good with no cracked or broken ones, but
could stand a little touch-up.  The head rotates smoothly.  The joint
and spring are good.  This ain't minty, but it sure ain't bad, and this
tool, by this maker, sure does not show up very often.  $40.00

Bleckmann 7 Inch Lancashire Pattern Outside Caliper.  Measuring 7" long
and this weighs 3 3/4 oz unboxed.  Bleckmann was a New York City based
importer of German tools in the last part of the 19th Century.  This is
in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There is a little frosting
and light patina, but nothing too bad. The screw threads are good and
the nut travels the full distance. The spring still has  plenty of
spring to it.  The tips only close down to 3/16", but that's how this
was made.  This ain't minty, but it will get the job done.  $17.00

Keystone Mfg Co Westcott No 78 6 Inch S Adjustable Wrench.  This weighs
7 1/2 oz unboxed.  This is in reasonably good condition and was
cleaned.  There is a little patina, but nothing too bad.  The handle
finish looks to be original and is about 85% present.  The jaws have
some light dings on the edges, but the faces are good. The adjuster
travels the full distance, but the there is a slight (1/32") gap when
the jaws are closed.  This ain't pristine, but as old wrenches go, this
one sure ain't bad and it will get the job done.  $16.00

1 lb 10 1/2 oz unboxed.  This isn't marked Pexto, but there is a dealer
mark on the backside.  This is in decent condition and was cleaned by
someone else.  There is some light frosting and staining on the head and
the shear.  The crimper is good.  The finish on the handles is worn and
there are a couple of dots of paint, but they are solid.  This ain't
pristine, but it's a quality tool by a top maker that will get the job
done.  $25.00

TWO Hanson Plated Plumb Bobs.  The one on the left is a 3 oz, the one on
the right is a 5 oz, and they weigh 8 oz total unboxed. These are in
reasonably good condition and were lightly cleaned. The plating has a
little funky and is worn a little on the 5 oz string cap, but overall
it's good.  The tips and string caps are all good to go.  These ain't
the fanciest, but they will get the job done.  $15.00
