Gallots, What the heck is this gimmick chainsaw? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ohq72p2J-DU (around 8:30) IMO, would be faster with a proper old style hand saw... Chris, NZ Watching too much youtube again! |

It is a detailing chain saw for large scale woodcarvers. I have seen a local guy use one in making his large bears, eagles and pukey ducks Ed Minch |

Has anyone else found that it’s just too much trouble to watch youtube? Damn adverts to start with, then they cut in to stuf you’re watching, and now they want me to sign in and subscribe. Their algorithm to decide what I might be interested in is always rong too. - and the cute baby chainsaw? taken away from its parent before it grown up? - What Ed said. I confess that I’ve been semi converted to electron power for indoor c/saw work, or even bits of stuff outdoors. But my Husqy will stay with me. Ya gotta separate the wheat from the chaff! Seems way too many infatuated with new tools, singing praises for designs that have been around forever. One that seems worthwhile is “Rex Kruger” and of course, you can find all of St. Roy’s shows on YT. T. Anthony M. Zaffuto, President Metaltech, Inc. 3547 Watson Hwy. They are going to put a battery on a yo-yo soon, if they haven't already. And all the world is in love. Nobody cares if they don't last and let you down when it counts. Nobody notices it costs the price of the tool to replace the battery. They are too busy singing I want my bat-ter-ryyyyyyy! yous scott -- ******************************* Scott Grandstaff Box 409 Happy Camp, Ca 96039 scottg@s... http://www.snowcrest.net/kitty/sgrandstaff/ http://www.snowcrest.net/kitty/hpages/index.html |

I have both a Woodzig corded polesaw, with a special chain no longer made ( I snap them up when I find them at garage sales) that looks very much like the one in the video, but with pole and tail attached, and a Prazi 12 inch beam cutter that mounts in place of a circular saw blade on a wormdrive Skilsaw. Google both "woodzig" and "prazi saw" to see what I'm talking about. -Greg |
