In my boredom, decided to make  protective box for my 73,

Then, being protected, as I had never sharpened it, so in going for
sharpening I discovered that the back of the blade  showed signs of mischief
and hack sharpening.

 

It is clear to me that someone had bought it, butchered the sharpening, and
parked it long before it came to me.

 

And although I have mentioned that when you're ready for a tool, the tool
god will shine on yu, , but this kinda proves the inverse..

 

If you're not ready for it, the tool god will SH** on you  somehow

Functional and fabulous cover you've made there, Eric. Sorry you've been
s-hat upon by the tool gods.
I yousta have the LN version of this beast, but it went to some lucky
galoot during the great purge of '00.
If it's any consolation, my #92 (rather compact Stanley shoulder plane,
dear distant Jeff) is the most oft-used and greatly-appreciated tools in my
Gerstner chest, save for the bench planes. What exactly did they do to
butcher it?
