271519 curt seeliger <seeligerc@g...> 2020‑07‑20 WTB- miter box bearing
Good days fellow Galoots,
I've been wondering for several months why my miter box has been cutting
slightly skewed. How I could possibly have mis-sharpened the saw so badly?

This morning I noticed that my Stanley 2358A has lost one of the four
bearings that the saw spine rides on. Might any of you have a spare kicking
around, or suggest a working alternative?

The bearing is 1/2 inches diam by pretty darn close to 1/8th inch wide. The
threaded portion is 0.435 inches diam, just under 7/16ths inch, with 20
threads per inch.

Thanks for your pointers,

Hi Curt:

Will the bearings on a Stanley 460 Miter Box work for you? If so, you're
welcome to mine. I have a big old (somewhat damaged) 460 in need of some
serious help, and I'd rather donate any remaining good bits to keep someone
else's box up and running. Offer applies to anyone else needing parts for
this (or similar) boxes, as well.
