268870 KEVIN FOLEY <kevin.m.foley@c...> 2019‑07‑11 Klingspor abrasive blocks -- FYI pics
I posted a while back about Klingspor hard rubber abrasive blocks for cleaning
up tools. I cleaned something up so I posted before and after pics. I was
expecting this to have a bare lapped surface, but it was plated, the plating now
dark or missing. The result isn't shiny bright but it's now a good clean user.
Inset areas were cleaned with a brass brush

Looks like a decent user. What grit of block did you use? I have all
three, and for plated surfaces, the fine seems to do a decent job, getting
rid of the rust, dulling down the shine a bit, but not removing it.

Kirk,

I used the fine block for this tool. It seems the medium grit matches the
finishing process on older Stanley stuff. I've been through a bunch of those. I
haven't used the coarse block on anything yet.

Cheers,

Kevin
