Does anyone know what the logo on the blade says? How about the era of the
pamphlet under the lever cap?

Thanks in advance

G'day Ed,

Judging by the shape of the top of the iron and the dark blue colour of
the body that is an early, possibly even a pre WWII example.

The top line of the text will be the word "RECORD" in a single line
surround, straight line above and below the word RECORD and
semi-circular ends
below that is "MADE IN ENGLAND'
below that, arched over the top of the slot is "BEST CRUCIBLE CAST"
and below that, one word either side of the slot is    "TUNGSTEN" and
"STEEL"

Later irons have a curved top rather than the straight top on the one in
your pic.

"RECORD" in a border, but the border ends more squared off than the
earlier irons
below that "TUNGSTEN VANADIUM"
centred below that "STEEL"
and below that: "MADE IN ENGLAND"

I don't have any idea about the age of the pamphlet.

Dark blue means earlier to me, but no idea how early.

Kirk’s correct, the younger they are, the lighter they get. The original
colour is dark blue, and I had a reference to it being RAF Roundel blue - but
the precise blueness of that is unknown to me. I found a grade of Dulux (Big
name paint maker, Paddy) that’s a darn good match, with some help from my then
local small paint supplier who used the high tech paint matching gizmo. Took in
a plane and said ‘I want to match this’ and gave him the story. It turned out
he was originally a carpenter and joiner, so he was tuned right in to what we do
.

Regarding the precise blueness of 'roundel blue', that colour is
documented in British Standard 381C (Colours for Specific Purposes).
It's number 110.

You can see the colour of roundel blue expressed in various ways here:
