T1 - C. E. Jennings Tool Box - Brace Handle Tool Outfit Number 565 - Empty
- $25
There was some recent talk about this style of box on the list, so I figured
I would put it up. A catalog shot of it can be seen at
https://archive.org/details/CEJenningsCatalog1918/page/n10. The catalog
copy reads The brace operates as a handle and the Outfit may be carried like
a suit case. This one has no tools, and is missing about 6 or 7 clips. It
does have almost all of the internal label still present but has darkened
some. Appears to be dark stained oak or ash with finger jointed corners.
Overall dimension when closed is 21 x 13 x 4 inches. The hinges and closing
clasps are present. I tried some braces I had around and could not get one
that fit correctly, so you may end up having to look for a C. E. Jennings
brace if you want to use it like a suit case. You could just apply a French
cleat to the back and reconfigure it as a wall hanging tool case. In good
solid overall shape even if you just want to use it for storage. It is
going to be somewhere in the 10lb range to ship and the box I am planning on
using is going to limit the ability to ship anything else with it if you
find anything else on the list.

T2 - Union No. 60 or Stanley No.12 Scraper Plane - Reworked after Stanley
Buyout? - $25
I think this is a Union No. 60 scraper plane. In 1920 Stanley purchased the
Union plane division. They reworked some of the Union planes as part of the
acquisition. I think this is one of those planes as the front area where
union marked them is milled smooth. The front tension screw appears to be
the same as used on the Union No. 60. Handle appears to be mahogany as
opposed to the rosewood Stanley used. Front bottom has some pitting and it
is missing some japanning. Blade is made from an old saw (I made it from a
Disston saw using a sheer to cut it so the tempers is fine). No damage
aside from the pitting mentioned and some staining.

T3 - Millers Falls No. 569 Chisel and Plane Blade Jig - $5
I think this is a Millers Falls No. 569 as shown on page 159 of Catalogue
No. 35 from 1915. In good shape with no issues. F. W. Barner stamped his
name on it.

T4 - Brass Level Plate - Eden Specialty Co. Patent No. 1,498,158 - $10
Brass level plate Marked Eden Specialty Co. Owners & Makers Brooklyn N.Y..
In the Datamp this is found as patent number 1,498,158 granted on June 17,
1924. Datamp says: This is a simple adjustable level mounted on a sheet
metal backing. It is designed to be affixed to any piece of timber handy to
the user, allowing a carpenter or mason to create a level of any length. In
good shape with no damage, both vials are intact with good bubble sizes.

T5 - Stanley No. 45 Type 4ish with T&G blades - $25
I think the main stock and skate are type 4 and the fence may be a type 6,
or a previous owner just reworked the fence to put a rosewood strip on it
(the knurling on the fence screws is different from the others which is why
I think type 6, but the rosewood strip appears slightly longer than those
from a type 6). Comes with just the short rods. It has a 1/4 blade in it
that has been ground to a flute profile and I am throwing in a rusty tongue
from a type 5. With a little bit of work you will have a plane you can use
for t&g work.

T6 - Buck Brothers 1/8 Inch Socketed Butt Chisel - $20
About 8 inches overall so I am calling it a butt chisel. Side of blade is
marked Buck Brothers. Handle is leather capped and appears to be correct.
Should clean up to be a fine user. Tough to find 1/8 older chisels in my
opinion. Will be a good one for cleaning up corners in your chisel work.

T7 - 2 NOS Saw handles - Wheat Carvings - $5
2 new old stock saw handles with wheat chip carvings on them. Never been
used or mounted. Still has some flash to clean off the bottom part. I have
no idea what wood they are. Light in color and appear to be a hardwood.

T8 - Shelton Patented Plane No. 3 Size Patent 1,914,609 - $10
Patented on June 6, 1933 under number 1,914,609. It is a Shelton. It is a
not so great plane from a not so great maker. Did I mention that it is
patented. If you are looking for a great user, look elsewhere. Did I
mention that it is patented. It is a number 3 size with a 1 3/4 inch wide
blade. Tote and knob are crack free. Lever cap is embossed US Pat 1914609.
Damage free and near full length blade, most likely owing to the fact that
it was never used because it is a terrible plane. This is a perfect plane
to loan out, thus insuring that no one will ask to borrow a tool from you in
the future. In closing you should know that this is a patented plane
proving that even bad ideas can get patent protection.
