268178 "Frank Filippone" <red735il@g...> 2019‑03‑22 Where to find a Stanley #65 Chamfer Spokeshave blade?
Finally scored a nice condition Stanley #65 Spokeshave for an upcoming
project. Tool is on good condition except the blade is about shot.

Does any one have a place to source one of these blades? ( EBay has not
been a help)

My blade has an 1885 patent date on it... I do not care what the patent
date is on the replacement blade... I just need one..

If there is a different tool model that takes the same sized blade, that
information would be of immense help...

TIA

Frank Filippone

St James Bay has a number of various blades - check at the bottom of the page

Mine is 1-1/2" wide, and you can only have about 1/2" from the slot to the
cutting edge. Maybe a worn out block plane blade, cut off the high end.
Width or length of the slot shouldn't really matter. A 60.5 has a 1.5"
blade.

Mine also has the 1887 patent, in a circle, on the blade.

You could always make one
Old solid steel circular saw blades were made to cut...wood!

Paper thin Dremel cutoff wheels, if you make a pass and then go over it
again several times (instead of trying to hog all the way though in one
go) won't even draw the temper of tool steel.

When I needed a blade for a hollow #55 spokeshave I cut one from an old
saw blade and it works fine.
I have a picture here somewhere but.................somewhere lol
