Damn I feel old now... I can't believe it was so long ago. Must
be why there are so many spiderwebs in this dark corner of the porch...

Yeah, I still go there every once in a while.
Google doesn't make it easy to find the Usenet in their pages now...

Bypass Google. Pan is a pretty decent newsreader (I 'think' there's a Windows
version), and there's some decent free (or at least cheap) Usenet portals if
your ISP doesn't have their own news-servers (mine doesn't. :-( ). I use the
free plan offered by XSusenet.com

Cheers!

I do not know when you guys started collecting antique tools but we started
Potomac Antique Tools And Industries Association (PATINA) in 1976 and Early
American Industries Association was formed in 1936. M-WTCA is celebrating 50
years this year.
Ergo, all the good stuff may be gone — into someones collection }:=)

The wreck was for sure where i cut my internet woodworking teeth. Thems
was some formative years....

Yeah, Sam, it probably is pretty well picked over, but you must have hope.
Remember, we are all getting older and the recycle situation is kicking
in. In other words, we (including myself) can't take 'em with us, so the
next guy will eventually get a crack at our hoard. Just keep enjoying what
we can, while we can..... I actually picked up a fairly nice Stanley 140
at a yard sale a few days ago. Hadn't seen one of those in a while.

Keep on looking, guys.

If you can believe Todd (????) one of his fellow looters got a Stanley #1 for $5
just a month or two ago. And I got the first Stanley #11 (low angle plane with
a cross handle, Jeff) I have ever seen at a garbage sale about 2 blocks from my
house - $10. There is still a pile of stuff out there, and, as a friend says,
the harder I look the luckier I get.
