266113 Anthony Seo 2018‑07‑16 FS: July Jewels List B
Summer is in full bloom. There are a bunch of fresh goodies on the list
and some good stuff in the NOS section. There ain't an infinite supply
of these items so don't wait.

PayPal is now accepted and preferred (if you use it) on all items. On
items less than $25 (not including shipping) I would appreciate you
using the Send Money to Family & Friends option so I don't get killed
with the fees but that is your call. Checks and money orders are still
welcome, it just seems that 1st Class letters seem to be taking forever
to get from there to here.

And remember........da more ya buy, the cheaper they fly!

First contact (that is e-mail, or phone) that says I want it gets it.
Oldtools terms, except on items and orders over $100, if I don't know ya
or haven't done business in the past (and my records good way back..)
then it's pre-pay. I do take PayPal (except as noted). Prices do not
include shipping. All items are shipped with Delivery Confirmation.
Insurance, unless it is a big order or a very fragile item is optional.
Just let me know. Also, I am shipping a lot more stuff via First Class
mail. There will be a small amount added to the shipping cover the cost
of the padded mailer. I don't get them for free.

Please put your name and address in the message. Saves time and email
traffic!

Ridgway No 220 11 Piece Irwin Pattern Auger Bit Set & Roll. The sizes
are run from 1/4" to 1", and this all weighs 3 lbs 1/2 oz unboxed.
Ridgway was a long time Sheffield England auger bit maker in business
from 1878 until they merged with Record in 1975 to become Record
Ridgway. These just have the Ridgway marks so they were made before that
time. These are NOS, that's New Old Stock. Note these are straight, any
bending you see is because of camera lens distortion. I did clean off a
few small spots of rust they picked up from setting around. The edges,
lead screws, and tangs are factory fresh. The canvas roll does have a
couple of rust stains on the inside and a little bit of musty smell to
it, but it just needs a good airing out. If you are looking for a
quality set of bits, well you can't do much better than this one. $55.00

Rabone Chesterman 10 Inch Sweep Brace. This weighs 2 lbs 12 1/4 oz
unboxed. The Rabone and Chesterman companies merged in 1963 and were in
business until 1989 when Stanley bought the firm. This is NOS, that's
New Old Stock, and was not cleaned. There is a touch of patina there
and there from setting around but nothing too bad. The grip and pad are
plastic and they have a few dings. The ratchet and jaws are good,
although it could stand a touch of oil. This ain't the fanciest but
this is a good heavy duty brace. Note: I also have an 8" sweep one
available at the same price. $24.00

There is little light funky and couple have some light rust spots from
laying around but nothing worth kicking the cat over. The handles have
some scuffs from being knocked around. Note: The ones you get might
vayu slightly from the pictures. These are quality chisels by one of

Two Lufkin Machinist No 40 Series Calipers. On the left is a 3" No. 41
outside caliper, on the right is a 4" No. 42 inside caliper, and they
weigh 2 1/2 oz unboxed. These are NOS, that's New Old Stock. I did clean
off some oil residue on these (they were oiled at the factory). There is
a little still up in the joints and there and here. The tips of both of
them have a few stained spots (these weren't stored very well). Lufkin
machinist tools are every bit as good as their Starrett and Brown &
Sharpe cousins. $20.00

wide, and this weighs 9 oz unboxed. Made by the H. L. Fine and Son Ltd
company of Middlesex England. This is NOS, that's New Old Stock. This

Two Cabinetmakers Shave Hooks Or Shavehooks. These are 7 5/16" long,
the triangle blade is 2 7/16" across the edges, the other one is 2 3/8"
high, 1 3/4" wide, and they weigh 9 3/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to
the maker, but I know for a fact that these came over from England in
the 1980's. These are NOS, that's New Old Stock. But they have been
bouncing around boxes for a while. I did clean some light patina off of
the shafts and a few small spots on the blades. The edges had a few
light dings that I fixed with some file work. The handle finish is good
on both. These are quality and handy tools. $15.00

Seven Nicholson 5 Inch Taper Files. The upper 5 are marked Dbl Ex Slim
Taper, the lower 2 are marked Slim Taper, they measure 5 1/4" along the
sides across the teeth and these weigh 6 1/4 oz unboxed. These are NOS
(that's New Old Stock). I did take some rust off of the tangs and a
couple of the tops. There are a few light spots of rust on the teeth
but these are like 99% clean. These are the ones to have for sharpening
saws, especially the smaller tooth sized ones, and ya sure ain't gonna
walk into the local hardware store and purchase files of this quality at
this kind of price. $35.00

Working & Collectible Old Tools

Three Millers Falls No 30 Chisels. The first one is a 3/4", the blade
is 2 15/16", the middle one is a 1", the blade is 3" long, the last one
is a 1 1/2", the blade is 3", and they weigh 1 lb 7 oz unboxed. These
are in used but reasonably good condition and were cleaned. The blades
have couple of dots on the back and the fronts but nothing too bad at
all. The edges are good and sharp or pretty darn close. The red
Permaloid handles have some scuffs and light wear and somebody drilled
hanging holes so you won't have to do it. The striking button on the
3/4" is banged up a bit, the other two are good. These ain't perfect
but they sure ain't bad either and most of these I see look like Buck
Rogers built two spaceships with them. Just saying. $50.00

Set Of Stanley No 71 Router Plane Parts. There are the knobs and
threaded rods, the blade clamp, a 9/16" blade, and this all weighs 7 oz
unboxed. These are all in used condition and were cleaned. The knobs
are the painted hardwood variety and were refinished. That ain't a
perfect job but they are better than they were. There are some dings
and the one has a partial check along the side. The nuts on the rods
have a little wear to the plating on the tops but they remove from the
rods. The blade clamp has a little roughness to the plating and some
light patina inside but it's solid. The plating on the thumbscrew is
worn and there is a little pitting but the threads are good. The blade
does have some light pitting on the cutting face and some deeper stuff
on the sides of the shaft. These ain't minty perfect and they sure
ain't got a minty perfect price tag but decent parts are better than no
parts, eh? Note: I do not have any of the other parts for this plane.

A J Wilkinson 8 Inch Folding Handle Drawknife. Measuring 16 1/8"
overall, the blade is 8 1/4" long (straight across), 1 1/2" or better
wide across the edge, and this weighs 1 lb 9 3/4 oz unboxed. John G.
Young of Hyde Park, MA was granted Pat. No. 542,721 on July. 16, 1895
for the design of this tool which was made by A. J. Wilkinson & Co. of
Boston, MA. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. The back of
the blade has some light pitting right at the edge and some frosting and
spots on the rest but that is good for the most part. I did run a file
over some mushrooming on the back and there are some dings on the top.
The edge is fairly sharp as is. The front has some spots of pitting.
The handles were refinished, that ain't a perfect job but they are
better than they were. The plating on the handle arms is worn. Both
nuts work and the screws do remove. This ain't minty but it will get
the job done. $50.00

Early Stanley No 62 Marking Gage. This weighs 4 oz unboxed. This isn't
marked other than the patent date but these guys rarely were. Good ole
Justus A. Traut of New Britain, CT was granted Pat. No. 334,308 on Jan.
12, 1886 for the design of the fence used on this tool. Figuring 20
years for the use of the patent date, that puts this guy between 112 and
132 years old. This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned by
someone else. He also hit it with the shiny stuff. The beam has some
dings from the screw and a few stains but nothing too bad in that
department. The head also has a few light dings and stains. The
locking screw is good. The screw for the point does remove and the
point removes as well. That could stand a quick sharpening but there is
lots to work with. This ain't pristine but having seen my share of
marking gages over the years, these guys rarely are when they get to be
this old. $23.00

Vintage Meier Germany 13/16 Inch Barbers Straight Razor. The blade is 2
7/8" long across the edge, 13/16" wide across the edge, and this weighs
1 1/2 oz unboxed. This is in reasonably good condition and was not
cleaned. There are some dots of rust on both sides of the blade but
nothing too bad. There is a spot on the top as well. The edge is good
with no nicks but it could stand a sharpening. The handle scales look
to be celluloid. Those are good other than a few light scuffs. The
joint is a little loose as is the spacer at the end of the handle
scales. This ain't perfect but these wider bladed models sure don't
show up every day. $30.00

L S Starrett No 38 24 Inch Lock Joint Outside Calipers. Measuring 24
13/16" from the tips to the top of the joint and and this weighs 2 lbs 9
3/4 oz unboxed. This is in decent condition overall. It was cleaned by
someone else. There are some spots of light pitting and frosting,
mostly on the front of the arms The joint lock works as does the fine
adjustment. The tips are good with no wear. This ain't minty but price
a new one without the lock joint and this is a real deal. $80.00

1" wide at the ends, 15/16" at the center, and this weighs 7 1/4 oz
unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition
overall and was cleaned. The cutting area has some very light pitting
but nothing too bad. There is a ding on he edge but this guy is fairly
sharp. There is some patina inside the head and on the upper areas and
the tang. The handle is the original one. That has some stains and
wear and there is a thin check at the top. I did reseat the hand forged
iron ring that acts as ferrule, but that might loosen up again. This
ain't pretty or perfect but it is a good working tool. $45.00

this is 12 1/8" overall, and this weighs 4 1/2 oz unboxed. This is in
reasonably good condition and was cleaned. The back has some very light
frosting and rust etching but nothing deep at all. The front is good
other than some staining and there are user initials after the mark.
The socket is good but the blade does angle down a little looking from
the side. The handle is a replacement. That is good other than a few
stains. This ain't minty but it sure ain't bad and it's got a whole lot
of blade to work with. $19.00

good condition and was cleaned. The front is good and all the rulings
are readable. They are stamped and not just inked on. The back has a

faces are good, this only has the thin jaw. The screw threads are good
and it travels the full distance. The head has some scuffs and wear to
the cross hatching. The base also has some scuffs and wear. This ain't
pretty or perfect and it sure ain't got the price tag of a minty one but
it will get the job done. $18.00

L S Starrett No 466 A Micrometer Depth Gage. This weighs 2 1/2 oz
unboxed. Good old Laroy S. Starrett of Athol, MA was granted Pat. No.
726,003 on April 21, 1903 for the design of this tool. This is in good
shape and was lightly cleaned. There ain't much in the way of patina to
fuss about. There are some light stained spots on the sides of the base
but the working face is good. The micrometer scales are clean and
readable and this turns freely. The locking nut for the rod at the top
also works and the rod removes. For a tool that is over 100 years old
(figuring the 20 year limit on patent date markings), this one is right
nice. $28.00

spots of rust on the insides of the flutes but the edges are good other
than some very tiny dings. The tang also has some dings but nothing too
bad there. This ain't minty but it will get the job done and it is a

This isn't marked but it is a 214 with the Sears paint job. Identical
tool, slightly different color scheme. This is in used but reasonably
good shape and was cleaned. This has all of the original finish but
there is some staining mainly on the front handle. The plunger tip is
good and the anvil doesn't show much in the way of wear. That is marked
from 4 to 16 as far as TPI goes. The screw on that works and was oiled
as was the fence screw. This ain't the fanciest, but for the money, it

Millers Falls No 206 Steel Body Block Plane. This weighs 1 lb 1/4 oz
unboxed. This model was made between 1940 and 1959. This is in used
but reasonably good condition and was cleaned. Note this is straight,
any bending you see is because of camera lens distortion, although why
folks would think that I would sell a bent plane is beyond me. The
sides have some frosting and a few dings. The sole also has some
frosting and some scratches but nothing too there. The body finish is
original and close to perfect other than some dings on the tops of the
sides and at the heel. The cap is good. The blade is clean other than
some scratches on the cutting face and there is lots to work with. The
blade will need a sharpening. All the screws work and were oiled. This
ain't minty perfect but seeing as how most of these went to trade
schools, well this one sure is better than most of them that show up.

Two Vintage Wooden Level Sights. They measure 1 7/8" long, 1 3/8" wide,
1 5/16" across the inside of the clamp area, and they weigh 3 1/4 oz
unboxed. Not signed as to the maker, these ain't Stanley No. 1's unless
they changed the base area at some point and didn't bother to tell me.
These are in decent condition and were cleaned. There is some wear to
the finish but most of it is there. The screws that lock these to the
level are good and the sight window and reference line are good, These
ain't the fanciest but these guys sure don't show up very often. $24.00

Buck Brothers 1/4 Inch Gouge. Measuring 4 9/16" from the edge to the
top of the handle, the blade is 3 3/8" long, 1/4" wide across the inside
of the sweep, this is 9 1/2" overall, and this weighs 2 oz unboxed.
This is in decent condition overall and was cleaned. Inside of the
sweep is good other than some very light frosting. The back is good for
the first half and could be used if you wanted to flip the bevel, after
that there is some light stuff. The handle is the original one. That
has some wear, staining and there is some chipping at the striking end,
but it's solid enough. This ain't pretty or perfect but it will get the
job done. $15.00

Vintage Sargent 8 Inch Steel Wing Compass Or Divider. Measuring 8 1/2"
long and this weighs 5 oz unboxed. This is in reasonably good condition
and was cleaned. There is a little patina there and here, mostly on the
insides of the arms where the wing is located. The joint is good and
the locking screw and fine adjustment nut both work. The tips are sharp
and good to go. These guys were mainly made for trade schools but it is
a good working tool. $18.00

Old Hand Forged Farrier Ball Jaw Blacksmith Tongs. Measuring 14 1/4"
long, the jaws are 1 3/8" deep, 1 1/8" wide, and this weighs 1 lb 9 3/4
oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition
and was cleaned (oh yeah!) There is some overall pitting. The jaws are
good other than the patina. They don't close down tight but that could
be fixed by adjusting the handles a little (which is best done with a
little heat). The joint has some wiggle but it ain't gonna fall again.
The handles are good. This ain't the prettiest but it will get the job
done. $22.00

Early Hand Forged Small Face Blacksmith Flatter. Measuring 8 7/8"
overall, the head is 2 11/16" long, the face is 1 5/8" wide, 1 1/2"
high, and this weighs 1 lb 5 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker.
This is in decent condition and was cleaned. There is lots of patina on
the head (that's how I know it's early eh?) The face has some dings,
mushrooming on the sides, and is slightly rounded from wear. The
striking end has some chips, a little mushrooming, and I did zing off
one sharp bit on the one corner. The handle is old and has the usual
stains and a couple of long dead worm holes. That is just shoved into
the eye and the head wiggles a little, but it's better than no handle
(unless you want a 2ft one..) This ain't minty but it does have some
serious age to it and it sure ain't ready for the scrap pile just yet.

Colwell Cooperage Co Nantucket Style Coopers Hoop Driver. Measuring 10
5/8" overall, the head is 5 1/16" long, the face is 1 1/16" in diameter,
the driver is 1 7/16" high, 3/16" wide across the outside, and this
weighs 1 lb 8 3/4 oz unboxed. The Colwell Cooperage Co is listed as
being in Jersey City NJ, and New York City (this has the New York mark).
There isn't much as far as working dates, I see some stuff from the
early 1900's up to the 1920s. This is in reasonably good condition for
the age and use and was cleaned. There are some pitted spots on the
head but overall that is good. The top has some marks from being
knocked back on the handle. The face has some dings but it's not as
bashed up as a lot of these guys that you see. The driver groove has
some dings on the edges but it's still deep enough to use. The handle
is old and probably the original one. That has some stains and age
checks but it feels solid. The head is loose but ain't gonna come off.
These guys sure don't show up much at all by this maker. The last photo
has the Colwell catalog page section for this tool, just in case any of
you "experts" want to tell me it's a blacksmith tool. Just saying. $35.00

in diameter, and this weighs 1 lb 2 3/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to
the maker. This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There
ain't much in the way of patina on the head. The face and peen have
some tiny dings but nothing too bad there. The handle was put on by
someone else and they left some scuff marks on the top of the eye. The
handle has a few stains but it's solid and on tight. I gotta say, that
I sure don't see too many of these old dawgs around in this kind of
shape. $24.00

wise. There is some crusty inside that I couldn't get to. The tang
clamp is good, the screw works and was oiled. The handles have some
dings, stains, and wear, but they are solid with no cracks. Both of
them do unscrew from the head. This ain't minty but it will get the job
done. $24.00

There is the usual patina found on these tools but nothing too bad.
Both faces have a few small chips on the edges and a couple of dings.

Old Orphan Stanley No 4 Trammel Point With Pencil Holder. This weighs 2
1/4 oz unboxed. This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned by

good. The beam screw works and travels the full distance. The pencil
screw has a little patina on the threads but that works. I didn't get

peen is 9/16" wide, and this weighs 12 3/4 oz unboxed. There is a user
name stamped on the side of the eye which might be the maker. This is
in decent condition overall and was cleaned. The head has some light
patina. The face is good other than some scuff marks and was dressed at
some point to get rid of some mushrooming around the edge. The peen is
good other than some dings. There is a line on the top and underside of
the peen but it's not cracked, just something that was left over when
this was forged. There is a crack on the lower front edge of the adze
style eye but it doesn't run too deep. The oval handle is the original
one. That has some dings and stains. The head wiggles a little but
it's not going to come off. This is what it is, but these guys sure

the Ward & Payne trademark. This is in reasonably good condition and
was cleaned. The back has some frosting and staining but nothing too
bad. The front also has some light patina. The edge has a few small
chips but this will need a sharping anyways. The handle is good other
than a few light dings and stains and a couple of dings on the end
leather washer. This is a quality English edge tool. $17.00

Tony, I'd like the saw files, if they're not already gone.

I'm still looking for a wood-bodied spoke shave that is not functional but can
be used as a display piece. Do you gave anything that is too far gone to sell or
repair, but that shows what the tools are like?

PayPal is now accepted and preferred (if you use it) on all items. On
items less than $25 (not including shipping) I would appreciate you
using the Send Money to Family & Friends option so I don't get killed
with the fees but that is your call. Checks and money orders are still
welcome, it just seems that 1st Class letters seem to be taking forever

And remember........da more ya buy, the cheaper they fly!

First contact (that is e-mail, or phone) that says I want it gets it.
Oldtools terms, except on items and orders over $100, if I don't know ya
or haven't done business in the past (and my records good way back..)
then it's pre-pay. I do take PayPal (except as noted). Prices do not
include shipping. All items are shipped with Delivery Confirmation.
Insurance, unless it is a big order or a very fragile item is optional.
Just let me know. Also, I am shipping a lot more stuff via First Class

of the padded mailer. I don't get them for free.

Ridgway No 220 11 Piece Irwin Pattern Auger Bit Set & Roll. The sizes

New Old Stock, and was not cleaned. There is a touch of patina there
and there from setting around but nothing too bad. The grip and pad are
plastic and they have a few dings. The ratchet and jaws are good,
although it could stand a touch of oil. This ain't the fanciest but
this is a good heavy duty brace. Note: I also have an 8" sweep one

off some oil residue on these (they were oiled at the factory). There is
a little still up in the joints and there and here. The tips of both of

bouncing around boxes for a while. I did clean some light patina off of

is a 1 1/2", the blade is 3", and they weigh 1 lb 7 oz unboxed. These
are in used but reasonably good condition and were cleaned. The blades
have couple of dots on the back and the fronts but nothing too bad at

someone else. There are some spots of light pitting and frosting,
mostly on the front of the arms The joint lock works as does the fine
adjustment. The tips are good with no wear. This ain't minty but price

reasonably good condition and was cleaned.

faces are good, this only has the thin jaw. The screw threads are good
and it travels the full distance. The head has some scuffs and wear to
the cross hatching. The base also has some scuffs and wear. This ain't

This ain't the fanciest, but for the money, it
sure ain't bad. $20.00

These are in decent condition and were cleaned. There is some wear to
the finish but most of it is there. The screws that lock these to the
level are good and the sight window and reference line are good, These
ain't the fanciest but these guys sure don't show up very often. $24.00

This ain't pretty or perfect but it will get the

This ain't the prettiest but it will get the job

overall, the head is 2 11/16" long, the face is 1 5/8" wide, 1 1/2"
high, and this weighs 1 lb 5 oz unboxed.

The last photo
has the Colwell catalog page section for this tool, just in case any of

wise. There is some crusty inside that I couldn't get to. The tang
clamp is good, the screw works and was oiled. The handles have some

in decent condition overall and was cleaned.
The head wiggles a little but

bad. The front also has some light patina. The edge has a few small
chips but this will need a sharping anyways. The handle is good other
than a few light dings and stains and a couple of dings on the end
leather washer. This is a quality English edge tool. $17.00
