Well spring arrived, at least on the calendar but the weather sure
didn't get the message. First weekend at the summer fleas was bone
chilling cold, followed by an 80 degree Sat, and then the rain and cold
moved back in. Sigh. Pickings haven't been great but some new stuff
has arrived for your perusal.

PayPal is now accepted and preferred (if you use it) on all items. On
items less than $25 (not including shipping) I would appreciate you
using the Send Money to Family & Friends option so I don't get killed
with the fees but that is your call. Checks and money orders are still
welcome, it just seems that 1st Class letters seem to be taking forever
to get from there to here.

And remember........da more ya buy, the cheaper they fly!

First contact (that is e-mail, or phone) that says I want it gets it.
Oldtools terms, except on items and orders over $100, if I don't know ya
or haven't done business in the past (and my records good way back..)
then it's pre-pay. I do take PayPal (except as noted). Prices do not
include shipping. All items are shipped with Delivery Confirmation.
Insurance, unless it is a big order or a very fragile item is optional.
Just let me know. Also, I am shipping a lot more stuff via First Class
mail. There will be a small amount added to the shipping cover the cost
of the padded mailer. I don't get them for free.

Please put your name and address in the message. Saves time and email
traffic!

Old Germantown Nantucket Style Coopers Hoop Driver Head. Measuring 5
1/8" long, the face is 1 1/8" in diameter, the groove is 1 7/16" high, a
little over 3/16" wide across the outside, and this weighs 1 lb 4 1/2 oz
unboxed. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. The body has
some light patina but it was never finished off real pretty to start
with. The striking face has some wear and there is a little mushrooming
on the one side. The groove is good other than some wear on the
outside. This ain't minty but cooper's tools by this maker are few and
far between. $24.00

Vintage Wooden Hollow Curved Sole Scraper. Measuring 10" overall, the
blade is 4 1/4" wide, 1/8" thick, and this weighs 9 1/2 oz unboxed.
Not signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition and was
cleaned. The body is good other than some wear to the finish. The
screws all work. The blade has some light scratches and pitting but
nothing too bad and it is pretty thick for a scraper. The edge is good
but could stand a quick touch-up. This ain't perfect but these bigger
curved sole scrapers do not show up very often. $22.00

Four Gimlet Tip Bits For A Brace or Bitstock. The upper one is a 7,
(these are in 32nds of a inch increments in cause you were asleep in
class that day in first grade), the next one is a 9, the next one is a
10, the bottom one is an 11, and they weigh 5 oz unboxed. These are in
reasonably good shape and were not cleaned, at least by me. There are
few light spots of patina but nothing too bad. The edges feel good but
that doesn't mean that they won't need a touch-up. None of these are
notched for a bitstock but that is easy enough to do. It sure ain't
getting any easier to put these sets together. $20.00

Uncommon Stanley No 291B 2 oz Midget Ball Peen Hammer. Measuring 10"
overall, the head is 2 7/16" long, the face is 9/16" in diameter, the
peen is 7/16" in diameter, and this weighs 4 oz total unboxed. This is
in decent condition and was cleaned. The head has some light dings on
the sides of the eye but nothing serious patina wise. The peen is good.
The face has some tiny dings and a few tiny chips around the edge.
The handle looks to be the original one. That has some dings, stains,
and someone notched out the one side, but it's solid and the head is on
tight. This ain't pristine and it sure ain't got the price of a minty
one either. $24.00

Hand Forged Blacksmith 1 lb 5 oz Straight Peen Hammer Head. Measuring 4
7/8" long, the face is 1 3/16" high, 1" wide, the peen is 1 3/16" high,
and this weighs 1 lb 5 1/2 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker.
This is in decent condition and was cleaned. There is some roughness
and grinder scuffs on the body left over from when this was made. The
face has some dings and wear and there are a couple of tiny chips on the
edge. The peen has a little roughness but nothing too bad. The punched
eye is good to go. This ain't pretty or perfect but it will get the job
done. $22.00

Early Hand Forged 1 3/8 Inch Leather Belt Strap End Punch. Measuring 7
7/8" long, the blade is 1 3/8" wide, 1" high at the center, and this
weighs 11 1/2 oz unboxed. This is signed on the back of the handle, but
I can't make out much other than part of Warranted. This is in decent
condition and was cleaned. There is some patina overall but nothing too
bad. The edge has some light dings and will need a sharpening. I did
take some sharp mushrooming off of the striking end. This ain't minty
but I sure don't see too many of these early ones around. $20.00

Moss & Gamble Cast Steel 1 lb 6 oz Ball Peen Hammer Head. Measuring 4
7/16" long, the face is 1 3/8" in diameter, the peen is a little over 1"
diameter, and this weighs 1 lb 6 3/4 oz unboxed. Moss & Gamble were
founded in 1853 in Sheffield England as steel and tool makers. The
company continued in business until 1997, but this tool looks to be from
the 1870's or 1880's and this is a forged head. This is in decent
condition and was cleaned. There is some overall light patina and JHC
made his mark a few times on both sides of the eye. The face has some
wear and light dings. There are also some small chips around the edge
and the start of some mushrooming. The peen is a little flattened at
the end and there is some light frosting. The eye has a little crusty
inside and little mushrooming on the top but that is good to go. This
ain't minty but considering the age, well it sure ain't bad and tools by
this maker sure don't show up much, at least around here. $22.00

Old 6 oz Cross Peen Hammer. Measuring 8 1/16" overall, the head is 3
5/8" long, the face is a little over 1/2" square, the peen is 11/16"
wide, and this weighs 6 1/2 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker.
This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. The head is clean
other than some light stained spots and some dings. The face also has
some light dings and a little wear around the edge. The peen is good.
The handle is the original one. Some one shortened it and there are
worn spots on the side where his thumb and finger went. The head is on
tight setting here but things do loosen up in shipping. This is a neat
hammer and they sure haven't been showing up much in this kind of shape.

Vintage No 2 Rein Trimmer. Measuring 5 5/8" long, the blade is a little
over 5/16" wide across the outside of the tips, and this weighs 1 oz
unboxed. Not signed as to the maker, but few of these are. This is in
decent condition and was cleaned. There is some light patina on both
sides of the blade. The edge will need a quick sharpening. The handle
is stained hardwood and that is good. The blade is in tight with no
help from me. This ain't pristine but these guys sure ain't been
showing up any prettier lately. $14.00

Ackerman & Johnson Bangor PA Slater Slate Roofing Hammer. Measuring 10
3/4" long, the head is 7 1/4" long, the face is 3/4" high, 3/8" wide,
and this weighs 1 lb 4 3/4 oz unboxed. Ackerman & Johnson made tools
for the slate trade in Bangor PA, I don't have the exact working dates
but they were working in the early 1900's from what I can find. This is
in decent condition, it was previously cleaned rather aggressively, and
I just took off some recent patina. There is some overall scuffing on
the head and shaft. The face is good, the spike could stand a little
sharpening, and the nail claws are good as well. The breaking edges on
the sides of the shaft are both good. The stacked leather washer handle
has some wear and a few bits of paint but that is solid. I did not mess
with the nut on the end. This ain't perfect and it sure ain't got the
price tag of a minty one either. $35.00

Stanley No 75 Bullnose Rabbet Plane. This weighs 10 1/2 oz unboxed.
This is in reasonably good condition. This was cleaned and refinished.
Read on. Note this is straight, any bending you see is because of
camera lens distortion, although why folks would think that I would sell
a bent plane is beyond me. The machined sides have some frosting. The
sole is good. The original japanning was worn and there was some rust
showing so this was repainted. Stuff happens eh? The cap is good. The
blade has some light spots of pitting but nothing too bad there. The
blade will need a sharpening. Both the screws work and were oiled.
This ain't pristine but it sure ain't bad either. $27.00

long, the blade is 3 11/16" wide across the outside, 3 1/2" wide across
the inside, 1 7/8" high at the center, 7/8" to 15/16" thick and this
weighs 7 3/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in decent
condition and was cleaned. There is some rusting and pitting on the
blade. The edge has some roughness but this is still fairly sharp. The
handle has some dings, stains, and wear, but it's solid and on tight.
This ain't the prettiest but these guys sure do not show up very often
anymore, at least around these here parts. $45.00

Smith & Wesson Sight Adjustment Screwdriver. Measuring 3 1/16" long,
the tip is 1/8" wide, and this weighs 1/2 oz unboxed. Not signed as to
the maker, but I know what it is and you know what it is so spare me the
commentary. This is in used but good and was not cleaned. There is a
little patina on the blade but nothing to fuss about wear wise. The
aluminum handle has some stains and light wear. This ain't minty and it
sure ain't got the price tag of a minty one either. $28.00

Stanley No 15-640 Saw Set Or Sawset. This weighs 11 oz unboxed. This
is marked Pat Pend and Japan inside the handles. This is in used but
good shape and was not cleaned. There are some dings to the finish but
most of it is there. The plunger and anvil are good. This uses the
same captive plunger as found on the Stanley No. 42X saw set. This also
has a magnifer lens on the top for those tired old eyes. This ain't
minty but considering that it's 1/2 the price of a new one, well it sure
ain't bad and it will get the job done. $22.00

Stanley No 3C Type 19 Smooth Or Smoothing Plane. This weighs 3 lbs
unboxed. This is a Type 19 and was made by Stanley between 1948 and
1961. This looks to be a later one. This is in reasonably good
condition and was cleaned. Note this is straight, any bending you see
is because of camera lens distortion, although why folks would think
that I would sell a bent plane is beyond me. The sides are good other
than a little frosting and a couple of tiny dings. The sole is also
clean other than a tiny chip off of the edge on the toe. The japanning
is original and close to perfect except on the tops of the sides. The
lever cap has some tiny dots of patina but the plating is still there.
The chipbreaker is good. The blade has some light stuff on the exposed
areas and back but the cutting face is clean and there is lots to work
with. The edge is slightly rounded to one side but the blade will need
a sharpening anyways. The tote and knob have the original finish plus a
coat of wax. There are some dings to the finish on both but they are
solid. All the screws work and were oiled. This ain't minty but like
almost all of the planes of this vintage, this one did it's tour of duty
as a carpenter's plane and it lived to tell the tale. $55.00

7/16" high, and this weighs 6 lbs 9 1/2 oz unboxed. This is signed but
the mark is partial. This is in decent condition and was cleaned.
There is some light patina including some of the original red paint but
nothing too bad. The face has some wear around the edges. The peen
also has some light wear. The punched eye is good to go. This ain't

There is some light wear and scuffs on the blade but nothing too bad.
The edge is sharp but there are a couple of tiny dings. The handle is
good. The tang goes all the way through and is peened over a rivet at

edge to the top of the handle, the blade is 3 1/2" long, 5/16" wide,
this is 8 5/8" overall, and this weighs 1 1/4 oz unboxed. This is in
decent condition and was cleaned. Inside the sweep there is some light
frosting and a few deeper dots of patina down close to where the tang
starts. The back also has some light stuff but that was never finished
off real pretty to start with. The handle looks to be a replacement,
but that is good other than a few stains. This ain't minty but it will
get the job done. $17.00

to the top of the handle, this is 8 3/16" overall, and this weighs 2 oz
unboxed. Marked as shown. This is in reasonably good condition and was
cleaned. The back has a few light spots but nothing that can't be
worked out as this is sharpened. The front is good. The handle has
some wear and there is the start of a chip at the striking end but it's
good otherwise. This ain't minty but it will get the job done. $16.00

tip, 7/16" at the top, and this weighs 2 1/4 oz unboxed. This is in
reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There are some stained spots
but nothing serious patina wise. The blade has some light wear on the
edges for the first 5/8", after that they are good as is the tang. I
gotta say that these guys sure don't show up very often, at least around

There is some frosting on the blade and lead auger, but nothing too bad
patina wise. The spurs and cutters on the lead auger are good and
reasonably sharp. The edge on the blade isn't shaving sharp but it's
not dull by any stretch. There are a few tiny dings on the edge. The
handle looks to be a replacement and the head was repainted at some
point in time. There are some dings and what have you up there but most
of it is present. This ain't pristine but it sure ain't bad either. $27.00

some overall light pitting and patina. The jaws are good other than the
patina. The joint has some wiggle but this ain't gonna fall apart. The
handles are good. This ain't pretty or perfect but these guys do not
show up very often and please don't message me saying that it is a

marked 2nd on the backs of the jaws. This is in decent condition and
was cleaned. There is some wear to the plating. The jaws are good, not

the nuts on the back was replaced at some point. The handles are good
other than some finish wear and there is some funky on the inside. This

This is in good condition and was lightly cleaned. There really ain't
much to fuss about. The tip is good and the string hole is clear. This
ain't fancy but it is a neat little tool. $20.00

Stillman Sawset or Saw Set. Measuring 6 7/8" long and this weighs 4 oz
unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. Stillman made this style but
never patented it. Some of these had brass collars, this has a steel
one. This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There ain't
much to fuss about patina wise. The undersides of the tips have a
little wear but nothing too bad. All the screws work. The handle is
good. These guys are a lot less common than the patent models and
rarely do they show up in this kind of shape. $18.00

Two Sculpture Associates 1/4 In Carving Tool Gouges. The upper one is a
No. 7 sweep, measuring 4 5/8" from the edge to the top of the handle,
this is 10 1/8" overall, the lower one is a No. 9 sweep, measuring 4
11/16" from the edge to the top of the handle, this is 9 13/16" overall,
and they weigh 4 1/4 oz unboxed. These were made in Germany, the marks
are faint but I figured it out. Sculpture Associates was a New York NY
importer and make of tools for wood and stone carving, which was
purchased by Sculpture House. These are in decent condition and were
cleaned. The insides of the sweeps are clean other than some light
frosting, there is some light pitting on the edges. The backs also have
some light pitting but those were never finished off real pretty like to
start with. The handles were user crafted. They have some dings,
stains, and the handle on the No. 9 has a couple of checks but it's
solid. These ain't perfect but they sure ain't bad either. $20.00

Vintage Aluminum Body Marking Utility Layout Knife. The handle is 4
3/16" long, the blade is 5/8" wide, and this weighs 3 1/2 oz unboxed.
Not signed as to the maker, this looks to be user crafted. This is in
decent condition and was cleaned. The body has some roughness and there
is v groove on the one side, why I have not a clue. The blade clamps
are good and both screws work. The blade is a cut down Dexter. That
has soem scuffs on the cutting end but nothing too bad patina wise.
This is what it is, but it will get the job done. $17.00

Old Hand Forged Small Jaw Farriers Nippers With Ball End Handles.
Measuring 9 3/8" long, the jaws are a little under 3/8" wide, about 1/2"
deep, and this weighs 7 1/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker.
This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There is some
patina but nothing too bad. The jaws are good but they would need a
sharpening it. The joint has a little wiggle and I'm guessing that the
nut and bolt were a replacement for the original rivet. The ball end
handles are good. I gotta say that I sure don't see too many of these
guys around in this size. $18.00

M Hey Phila PA Hand Forged Coopers Hoop Driver Head. Measuring 4 1/16"
long, the groove is 1 5/16" high, 5/16" wide across the outside, and
this weighs 1 lb 3 3/4 oz unboxed. The M Hey Mfg Co was a Phila PA
maker of goods for the brewing and bottling trades. The only dates I
found were in the 1920's. This is in decent condition and was cleaned.
There is some overall patina. The groove has some dings on the outside
edges but it's good on the inside. I did take some sharp stuff off of
the striking end, that ain't perfect, but it's better than it was.
There is some chipping and a few voids on the sides. The punched eye
has some light crusty inside but it's good to go. This ain't minty but
cooper's tools weren't exactly purchased just to be looked at and I sure
don't see too many by this maker around. $22.00

Vintage Hand Forged Veneer Hammer. Measuring 12 1/2" overall, the head
is 4 1/2" long, the face is 1" in diameter, the peen is 2 11/16" wide,
and this weighs 1 lb 4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is
in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There is some overall
light pitting on the head plus a couple of deeper spots. The face is
good other other than a few light spots of patina. The peen is good
although the edge is slightly rounded. The handle is a recent addition.
That has a check under the eye from the wedge and a few stains. The
head wiggles a touch but it's not going anywhere. This ain't pristine
but these older ones sure don't show up very often. $45.00

nothing too bad patina wise. The edge will need a quick touch-up. The
handle scales are good other than some light scuffs. The joint is good.

the right one is a Union Tool Co 3 1/2", and they weigh 1 lb 6 1/2 oz
unboxed. These are in working condition and were cleaned. The Brown &
Sharpe has some overall light pitting. The Union has some wear to the
blued finish. The jaws are good on both of them. The screws are also
all good other than a few tiny dings on the threads and they travel the
full distance. These ain't pretty or perfect but they are quality
working tools and if you want pretty, well bring more money. $30.00

condition and was cleaned. There is some overall light patina. The
face has some light dings and the start of some mushrooming around the
edge. The peen comes to a dull edge and that is good. The punched eye
is good to go. This ain't perfect but it is well made older tool. $18.00

Greenfield Mass tool maker in business from 1876 until 1912. This is
in decent condition and was cleaned. There is some overall light
pitting and patina on the tool. The blade is good other than some light
pitting but the screw doesn't work. and I ain't gonna force it. The
black walnut handle has some deep staining, wear, and a few checks but
it's on tight. This ain't pristine but tools like this weren't exactly

overall, the head is 2 3/8" long, the face is 5/16" in diameter, the
peen is 3/8" wide, and this weighs 1 1/4 oz total unboxed. There is a
makers mark on the one side but nothing I recognize. This is in decent
condition and was cleaned. There is some light patina on the head. The
face has some tiny dings and a little wear. I did clean some
mushrooming from around the edge. I also dressed the peen because of
some chipping. That is good other than a tiny chip still on the top.
The handle is a replacement. That has some stains but it's solid and
it's much better than what was on there. This ain't perfect but these
little guys sure don't show up much at all, at least around these here
parts. $24.00

in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. The blade has some spots
of light patina but retains most of the original bluing. The edges and
corners are good. The handle has a little frosting on the machined
surfaces but nothing too bad. This is true, but if you want .001
accuracy, well go get a Starrett. This ain't minty but this size does
not show up very often. $24.00

Keystone Mfg Co Buffalo NY Patented Ratcheting Auger Drill. Measuring 9
1/4" long, 7 1/2" high, the chuck is 1/2" in diameter, and this weighs 3
lbs 14 oz unboxed. Charles J. Scholler of Buffalo, NY was granted Pat.
No. 1,021,558 on Mar. 26, 1912 for the design of this tool which was
made by the Keystone Manufacturing Co. also of Buffalo, NY. This one
isn't signed, the few I have had it's on the handle. This is in decent
condition and was cleaned. There is some light patina and some
roughness around the joint area of the chuck, including some grinder
scuffs that are left over from when this was made. This takes round
shaft bits, some of these guys had square chucks. The teeth on the
ratchet have some chipping but it works and was oiled. The bottom line,
this ain't the prettiest but these guys do not show up very often. $30.00

tool and Laroy S. Starrett of Athol, MA was granted Pat. No. 642,170 on
Jan. 30, 1900 for the design of the quick set spring nut. It's a
pretty safe bet that this guy is well over the 100 year old mark. This
is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There is some frosting
and scuffs on the arms but nothing too bad. There is a user name
lightly marked on the back. The tips are good and this closes tight.
The spring nut works but that could stand a little oil and the screw
threads are good as well. This ain't pristine but it sure ain't bad and
it is not a very common tool, at least in my travels. $20.00

There is some overall patina. The jaws have some wear on the teeth but
they close up tight. The hammer poll has some dings and wear but no
cracks that I can see. The "through the center" joint has a little
wiggle but nothing too bad there. The handles are good other than the
patina. This one never had a tack claw on the end. This ain't pretty

long, 2 1/4" wide, 7/16" high, and this weighs 7 oz unboxed. This is in

water bath. The top has some pits, but those look like they are left
over from when this was made. The underside is good other than some
staining. There are some dings on the edges. This ain't perfect but it

Buell Bros Clinton CT Tool Handle. Measuring 5 3/4" long and this all
weighs 4 1/2 oz unboxed. The Buell Bros were Clinton CT makers of tool
handles who started in business around 1883. This is in reasonably good
condition and was cleaned. The chuck has a little patina but nothing
too bad and the threads were oiled. The ferrule is a little loose but
it's not going to fall off. The handle looks to be maple. That has
some dings and stains and the cap has knot hole on the one side. The
threads have a few dings but the cap stays on. This comes with 10 bits.
Those are good for the most part, but the bradawls all will need some
sharpening (my guess is that they were used as screwdrivers.) This
ain't perfect but for a 100 plus year old tool, well it sure ain't bad.
