Kirk shared his mighty new/old mitre plane with us this morning. Included was an
image from a catalog showing not only his plane but some mitre jacks that are

I have had a couple of those over the years but when I thinned the herd the one
I kept looks like the one’s pictured near the bottom of Kirk’s link above. Till
these catalog images, mine is the only mitre jack I have seen in this
configuration. Given the limited evidence, I must conclude it is German (or at
least continental) in origin.
