I want to see them making some of those large, smooth, shiny pieces!

At the Inaugural Roaring Camp Hammer In last august, the youngest smith
there (Matt- still in high school) was working on armor at the RC demo
forge. Clearly, hundreds of hours are committed to even the simplest suit
of armor (armour, Jeff)

He actually finished it since then, inbetween being in school at Cal Poly.
He was working on one of the greaves, and is a very skilled smith (of any
age, let alone someone who's 19). He was written up in our local's
newspaper the summer before last, and was involved in my mentor Kirk
McNeill's "Sharky-go-round" project that ended up in Black Rock City last
summer.

He (along with two other smiths and I) back up the regular Roaring Camp
blacksmith when Frank's away; I actually took off a day yesterday and
worked in the forge. Matt's got all three days (Sat-Mon) next weekend.

Best,
Bill
