-780 George Wallace <georgew@p...> 1970‑01‑01 Hi and a question

Been lurking for a while and finally got around to subscribing.
A few (very boring) facts about me. (This is where you hit the delete
key.) Retired last year from the Navy after 22 years of driving submarines.
Commanded USS HOUSTON (SSN713) which starred in the movie "Hunt for Red
October". Now working for a living with a securities software company in
Durango CO. (Not exactly old tool paradise, but it sure beats the East
Coast as a place to live) Been building furniture (mostly for SWMBO) for a
lot of years combing power tools for the rough work with hand tools for the
fine stuff. (I know I am living in sin and humbly seek forgiveness).
Now for the question. Picked up a block plane on Saturday. blade has
a diamond shaped stamp that has PROPLUS in it with Metal Manufacture Corp.
West Haven Conn around it. Looks a little like an early Stanley 110 except
it's a little larger (7 1/8 x 2) and the cap is held with a cap screw
instead of the bar that the 110 has. Anybody know anything about this?
George Wallace
