272617 galoot@l... 2021‑01‑22 anyone else doing the virtual Williamsburg confrence?
Greetinsg all!

It's been a bit quiet so I thought I would mention I am doing the
Williamsburg 18th cen woodworking conference (online and no required
s/w downloads!) Somebody doing the opening introduction stuff started
saying "there has been a lot of division in our country and I am sorry
that I have participated in it...." And I was thinking "Please, no
politics here!" when he, said "pins first or tails" and I was laughing
so hard I can't remember what followed but I think it was along the
lines of we can agree they both make good dovetails and our divisions
should not separate us.."

A lovely break from recent news, and said perfectly deadpan.

Bill Ghio has gone to something like 17-18 of them and my wife and I have gone
to the last 6 with him and his wife. Our wives like to tour the place and sit
by the fire anddrink wine, and Bill and I enjoy participating as part of the
crowd and seeing the projects live. We all decided that this was not the same
experience and we would skip it this year.

Yes, I’ll be running through the videos when the weekend is over. Whitney told
me that we have user access (provided that we were registered & paid up) for
quite awhile, possibly to the end of 2021.
