RARE Hawes Patent 1913 Convertible Ratchet Wrench. The handle is 8 1/8"
long (from the end to the top of the head, and this weighs 1 lb 9 3/4 oz
unboxed. James C. Hawes of Brooklyn, NY was granted Pat. No. 1,050,131
on Jan. 14, 1913 for the design of this tool which was made by the
Convertible Ratchet Wrench Company of Allentown, PA. This is in decent
condition and was cleaned. There is some overall frosting, some spots
of light pitting, and some dings on the head area. The jaws have a
little mushrooming on the edges and some dings on the insides but are
fairly good. The main screw travels the full distance and was oiled.
The head pivots using the top screw and there are dimples on the shaft
to hold it in position. The head on the position screw is bent a little
but that does it's job. The ratchet works in both directions and the
locked position. The handle has some dings, stains, and a little wear,
but it's solid. This sure ain't minty fresh but it is a tool that
rarely shows up. US Priority Mail Shipping with insurance and signature
confirmation is included in the price on this item. $275.00

Starrett No 133 15 Inch Engineers & Plumbers Level. This all weighs 3
lbs 4 1/4 oz unboxed. This is in used but reasonably good condition
and was cleaned. The machined surfaces have some frosting, scuffs, and
a few dings. The finish is original and about 98% plus a few tiny bits
of paint that didn't want to come off. All three clear level vials are
good. The locking screw for the adjustable vial works and the table is
readable. The wooden box has some stains, wear, and a few slivers off
of the one edge and the lid, but it's solid. This ain't pristine but it
sure ain't bad and the wood boxes don't show up very often. $70.00

This is in decent condition and was cleaned. There is some overall light
patina. Both of the edges are banged up a bit and would need a
dressing. The punched eye is good. These guys sure have been few and
far between of late, especially a signed one. $23.00

common size for one of these guys, at least in my travels. I do not
have the V-block to go with it. $24.00

5/16" across the tip, a countersink bit, 5/8" in diameter, and they
weigh 3 oz unboxed. These are in reasonably good condition and were
cleaned. Both have some staining and a little frosting but nothing too
bad. The tip on the screwdriver was dressed at some point but it's good
to go. The edge on the countersink could stand a quick touch up. The
tangs have some dings and the screwdriver bit had a little mushrooming
removed. These ain't minty fresh but they sure ain't bad. $15.00

is some overall patina. The steel bit has some spots of light pitting
and some dings but it's clean for the most part. There are some dings
on the sides but nothing too bad. The socket also has some dings and

inside. The spout is clear. The handle has a scorch mark up by the
ferrule but it's good for the most part. This ain't pristine but it

occupational hazard with these guys. The edge is good. The handle has
some scaling left over from when this was made and a little patina as
well. There is a wee bit of mushrooming on the end. This ain't minty
but it sure ain't bad and Stortz is a collectible maker of these tools.

15/16" wide, and weighs 14 oz. The upper one is a Stanley, the other
one isn't signed. These are in decent condition and were cleaned. The
body on the Stanley is fairly good other than some scuffs on the top of
the eye and some scratches on the underside. The other one has some
overall light pitting. The face on the Stanley has some wear, the other
one has some light pitting. Both peens have a little roughness. Both

handle has some dings on the edges and a little wear to the original
finish. This is true according to my reference square. This ain't

signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition and was cleaned.
The head has some light pitting and dings on the sides. The face also
has some dings and wear and I did rule a file over some sharp bits of
mushrooming on the edges. The claws are good. THe handle is old but
probably not the original one. That has some dings and stains but it's
solid. I did tap in the wedge and the head is on tight sitting here.

and a few spots of light pitting. The edge feels good to the touch.

overall. The jaws have a little wear on the tips. There is some funky
inside the chuck. The chuck looks like it should rotate but I can't get
it to move. The grip and pad are painted hardwood. They have some wear

Three Vintage Wood Handle Leather Tools. Top to bottom, there is a No.
6 edge beveler measuring 5/16" across the outside of the head, 1/8"
across the inside of the groove, a No. 11 and a No. 18 stitch marking
wheel, and they weigh 3 1/2 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker.
These are in decent condition and were cleaned. The head of the edge
beveler has some staining near the front of the back and a pitted spot
farther down, and a little pitting on the sides on the top but nothing
that will interfere with this being used. Both of the wheels are good
and leave a strong mark. There is a little pitting on the sides and
shafts. The handles are japanned hardwood. They have some wear and
dings and the grain on the No. 11 is a little rougher. They are solid
and the heads are in tight. These ain't pretty or perfect but they will
the job done. $50.00

handle on the upper one is good other than some stains and the chuck
works. The handle on the lower one has some wear around the center but
it's solid. The tips both have a little light pitting. They will need
a sharpening. These ain't minty but they sure ain't getting any easier

high, and this weighs 9 1/4 oz unboxed. The mark is J. Lundy. Not
signed as to the maker, there is a different name stamped in a couple of
places on the handle, my guess is that this was original a stone mason's
tool. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. There is some
overall patina. The figure was struck a little uneven and has some wear
but there still is plenty left. The striking end had some mushrooming
removed at some point before this got here and that is good to go. This
is what it is, but it is a collectible old tool. $18.00

signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition and was cleaned.
There is the usual patina found on these tools. I dressed the pointy
end a little but that could stand a little more work. The straight edge
has a small chip off of the one end and could also stand a little
dressing. There is some chipping around the top of the eye but there
still is plenty there to put on a handle. This ain't pretty or perfect

Walker No 2 Cobblers Lasting Pliers. Measuring 8 3/16" long, the jaws
are 5/16" wide at the tips, and this weighs 8 3/4 oz unboxed. John
Walker is listed as a Saddlers' Tool Maker in the 1818 Wrightsons
Directory of Birmingham England. This is in decent condition and was
cleaned. There is some overall patina. The jaws are good and the teeth
still have some bite to them. The joint is good with no play. The
handles are also good other than light pitting. This is not a very
commonly found maker of these tools to say the least. $22.00

Tabor Mfg Co 4 Inch 1885 Patent Speed Indicator. Measuring 4" long and
this weighs 2 1/2 oz unboxed. Harris Tabor of New York, NY was granted
Pat. No. 325,991 on Sept. 8, 1885 for the design of this tool. This is
in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. The body has a few dots
and some scuffs but nothing too bad. The plating on the wheel is worn a
little on the front and a little more on the back. The spring loaded
tip is good and this spins freely. This ain't pristine but it is not a
very common tool, at least in my travels. $30.00

Henry Disston & Sons 6 Inch No 5 1/2 Try Square. This weighs 8 oz
unboxed. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. The blade has a
couple of pitted spots and some frosting. The edges have some light
dings and the corners have a little wear. The rulings are all
readable. The handle has some shop numbers stamped on the sides, but
other than that they are clean. The plating is good save for a little
funky. This is true. This ain't perfect but it will get the job done.

W Butcher Cast Steel 2 1/4 Inch Plane Iron. Measuring 7 9/16" long, 2
1/4" wide across the edge, and this weighs 9 1/4 oz unboxed. This is in
reasonably good condition and was cleaned. Overall there isn't much in
the way of patina. There is just a whisker of mushrooming on the top.
The steel cutting face has some frosting and light pitting for the first
1/2 and some spots after than but most of that will work out as this is
sharpened, which it will need. This ain't perfect but they ain't making
these guys no more also. Just saying. $18.00

P S & W No 1 Ex 1/2 Inch Mortising Chisel. Measuring 10 3/4" from the
edge to the end of the socket, the blade is 7 3/4" long, the steel bit
is 5 5/16" down the center, this is 16 7/8" overall, and this weighs 14
1/4 oz unboxed. This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned by
some one else. The steel bit has some patch of pitting in the center
and a few stained spots but it's good overall. The iron body has some
light patina. The socket is good but had a little mushrooming removed.
The handle is a new replacement done by the other guy. That is well
made and on tight. This longer ones sure are getting few and far
between, at least around these here parts. $35.00

Emmert Turtleback Patternmaker Vise To Restore. This is in as found,
fresh from the shop condition. There is a bunch of saw dust residue and
shop patina from decades of use. The front jaw wiggles and it looks
like the inside of the front jaw has some chipping around the hole for
the shaft, but I can't say for sure. The hinge on the mounting bracket
doesn't move but I didn't really nuts with it. The main screw does
work. This is missing the tilt bracket and rod but most of the are.
This is what it is but for the money you ain't gonna do much better.
This is PICKUP only here at my shop here in Nesquehoning PA. $265.00
