268680 Nick Jonkman <njonkman@x...> 2019‑06‑14 Local auction of hand woodworking tool collection
Hey guys
There is an online auction starting on Sat. June15 of hand woodworking
tools about 15 miles from where I live. The auctioneer is a good friend
of mine. I would say there are probably well over 200 or maybe closer to
300 metallic and wooden planes offered, spoke shaves, rules, stanley
routers, chisels, corner braces etc. You have to see this. Most planes
are sold in groups of five or so. If any of you are interested here is
what I am willing to do for you fellows. I would feel extremely guilty
if I didn't give you guys a opportunity on this collection as I have
never seen this many pieces in one place. If any of you want to bid on
any of these lots feel free to do so. Register with them and bid. I am
sure that the prices will be really good. The auction ends on Tuesday
evening. The auctioneer as I said is a good friend and as honest as the
day is long. I swear my wife sent my collection there but mine are
safely at my home. I am willing to pick any of your purchases up for
all of you after the sale, store them at my place and afterwards we can
make arrangements for shipping, pick up or whatever is needed even ship
international if needed at whatever my costs are.

I was impressed with all the corner braces! Looks like a great
auction.

Just a reminder that this auction is in Canadian dollars and our US
friends will have around a 25% advantage with their US dollars.

Nick

Do you find that things go for the American equivalent of what they go for down
here? More expensive? Less?

I believe these will go very reasonable and far less than one would
expect. The only way to find out is to watch this sale. If you bid say
$1.00 Can. will be about $0.75US Unfortunately he should have discussed
this sale with me so we could have promoted better among the collectors.
