Wish I could find a photo of the one that was in the back room of the art and framing store -- a much different machine. Very high gizmocity! It was permanently affixed to board, had a bunch of gears, and quite a bunch of cast iron. Cranking the handle on it drove a knife around the oval. It took several turns as the knife lowered into the mat board with each turn. The mat board was slipped into the machine, which was around two feet wide. I last saw it 50 years ago, so details are a bit fuzzy. It looked very Victorian. Nice video Peter. Thanks. Mike in Woodland |
