The mat cutter is made by Logan, and I have one, works a treat.

Following Michael's pointer, here's a "how-to-use" video
for their Oval/Circle mat-cutter on YouTube.

(Granted, this is not strictly OT-ish, but 1] neither is it
tailed and 2] it _does_ have a high gizmocity factor.)

[P.S. I'm particularly impressed by how it manages
to maintain the angle of the bevel in so seeemingly
a simple manner --N]

Yes, but where is the elegance factor. The brass, the cherry?

While theirs is probably more "ready for the masses", and inexpensive, I
still prefer Bill's.

And I admire the way the video clearly explains how to use the gizmo,
without a rambling intro or gratuitous musical soundtrack...

Wish I could find a photo of the one that was in the back room of the
art and framing store -- a much different machine. Very high gizmocity!
It was permanently affixed to board, had a bunch of gears, and quite a
bunch of cast iron. Cranking the handle on it drove a knife around the
oval. It took several turns as the knife lowered into the mat board
with each turn. The mat board was slipped into the machine, which was
around two feet wide. I last saw it 50 years ago, so details are a bit
fuzzy. It looked very Victorian.

Nice video Peter. Thanks.
