Hey Nichel,
It's ellipses. I had not experimented with making videos. I figured
some doubting Thomas, or doubting Nichel, would challenge me for
pictures. Unlike planes, I didn't think folks would buy an ellipsograph
sitting on an oval as proof of functionality. A plane with a mouth full
of shavings is generally accepted as proof the planing tool works. (No
one has yet been caught stuffing shavings into the mouth of a plane.)
So I made a fifteen second test video. It took 5 - 10 minutes to upload
to galootcentral. The download took only a little less time. And then
the fifteen second video played back, in like, 15 seconds.
I think a decent video of my ellipsograph would run 5-minutes or more? I
don't believe Brian would take kindly to me sucking up so much bandwidth
from his server just to show I can draw an oval with this gadget. Since
the video is not likely to be available any time soon, if you send me
your address and a SASE, I'll send you an original oval or a facsimile
(depending on demand).
Thanks for your interest,
All in jest,
I am sincerely yours,
Bill W.
