268267 Don Schwartz <dks@t...> 2019‑04‑09 patent search help needed
I'm searching for a US patent issued in 1946 to P.L. Robertson for a
screwdriver or tool holder, with no insight into why I always get an
error. Can anyone help?

Hi Don,

Maybe this Canadian patent?

CA 433507, issued 12 Mar 1946 to Peter L. Robertson for a screw driver.

Here's a link to the search results:

If you follow the link and click on the "Documents" tab, there's a link
to a drawing.

Hi Don,

Oops, I see now you are looking for a US patent - no luck with that yet.

There was a patent filed by Peter Robertson in 1944, issued 1950. Perhaps this
is the one you are seeking.

Thanks. You've nailed it. Maybe I should say you screwed it, but somehow
that doesn't sound right.

I searched there with no luck, and then realized that some of his
patents were US, but had no luck there either.

Yup. That's right too. So he filed for protection in 1944 both in Canada
and in the US. The Canadian patent was apparently granted sooner, hence
the 1946 date on the driver. Many thanks.
