You're welcome. I think many, if not most people are simply unaware that
firmware updates are very frequently available for digital hardware,
much of which is shipped for sale before it is really completely ready
for the big-time. It is common with both hardware and software, either
because the companies don't know of deficiencies, or because they simply
want to start generating income from a product to cover the cost of
development. As I understand it, release dates are often dictated by
marketing and finance depts. rather than engineering. So it's generally
worthwhile checking mfrs' websites for updates.
