First list for February. The weather has been sort of, well psycho
here, swinging from below 0 to close to 60 in less than a week and now
we are looking at another lovely snow with an ice frosting
mess...sigh. Lot of fresh goodies in here along with a few from the
last list.
PayPal is now accepted and preferred (if you use it) on all items. On
items less than $25 (not including shipping) I would appreciate you
using the Send Money to Family & Friends option so I don't get killed
with the fees but that is your call. Checks and money orders are still
welcome, it just seems that 1st Class letters seem to be taking forever
to get from there to here.
And remember........da more ya buy, the cheaper they fly!
First contact (that is e-mail, or phone) that says I want it gets it.
Oldtools terms, except on items and orders over $100, if I don't know ya
or haven't done business in the past (and my records good way back..)
then it's pre-pay. I do take PayPal (except as noted). Prices do not
include shipping. All items are shipped with Delivery Confirmation.
Insurance, unless it is a big order or a very fragile item is optional.
Just let me know. Also, I am shipping a lot more stuff via First Class
mail. There will be a small amount added to the shipping cover the cost
of the padded mailer. I don't get them for free.
Please put your name and address in the message. Saves time and email
traffic!

Small Double Face 3/4 lb Hammer. Measuring 7 3/8" overall, the head is
3 1/16" long, the faces are 15/16" square, and this weighs 13 1/2 oz
unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition and
was cleaned. The head is good for the most part. Both faces have some
cut marks, dings, and the start of some mushrooming. The handle is good
other than a chip starting on the one bend and the head is on tight, at
least setting here. This ain't fancy but it is a cute little guy if you
ask me. $18.00

Big Early Hand Forged Draw Knife Or Drawknife. Measuring 19" overall,
the blade is 11 3/4" long (straight across), 1 3/16" wide at the center,
1 5/16" at the widest spots, and this weighs 1 lb 8 oz unboxed. Not
signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition and was cleaned.
There is some overall light patina on the iron part of the back and the
front of the blade. The steel cutting bit is 1/2" wide or so and that
is clean for for the most part. The edge has a few dings and will need
a quick sharpening. The right handle was replaced at some point in
time. Both handles have some check and they wiggle, but they are peened
over at the ends. This ain't pretty or perfect but tools of this age
rarely are. $28.00

Uncommon I Wilson Cast Steel Leather Heel Shave Tool. Measuring 8 1/4"
long, 1 1/8" wide across the outside of the bend, the edge is 5//16"
wide, and this weighs 1 1/2 oz unboxed. The I Wilson company was a long
time Sheffield England cutlery maker, best known for their trade
knives. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. There is some
light pitting on both sides of the blade. The shaft is fairly clean.
The handle is original to the tool. That has some dings and stains but
it's solid and on tight. This ain't pristine but this style of tool by
this maker rarely shows up. Just saying. $25.00

Vintage German No 1272 Drafting Trammel Point Set With Case. The main
beam is 10 5/16" long, with extensions that goes out to 30 1/8", and
this weighs 1 lb 1 3/4 oz unboxed. The heads are marked Compass but I
don't know if that is the brand or just a description. This is in
reasonably good condition and was not cleaned, other than to take a
little light rust off of the pen tip. The beams have a little staining
and a few scuffs. The heads are good and the screws all work. All of
the tips are good to go. The case is ripped away a little at the top on
the inside but the outside is good other than the normal wear. This is
a quality and well made set of these tools. $35.00

2 1/2" long, the face is 1 3/16" in diameter, the peen is 1/2" in
diameter, and this weighs 6 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker,
this is just stamped W Germany. This is in good condition and was
lightly cleaned. There ain't nothing much in the way of patina to fuss
about. The face is good with no dings to speak off. The peen is good
also. The handle also is good other than user initials lightly scratch
marked down at the end on the back. The head is on tight setting here.
This ain't the fanciest but it is a quality tool. $25.00

Buck Bros 1/16 Inch No 11 Carving Tool Gouge. Measuring 4 5/16" from
the edge to the top of the handle, the blade is 1/16" wide across the
sweep, the sweep is a No. 11, this is 8 11/16" overall, and this weighs
1 1/4 oz unboxed. This is in reasonably good condition and was
cleaned. The inside of the sweep is clean and there is a little pitting
on the back. This will need a sharpening. The handle is the original
one and is good other than stained bands from some colored tape that was
wrapped around. This ain't perfect but it sure ain't bad and Buck Bros
carving tools are every bit as good as their Addis cousins. $20.00

S J Addis 3/8 inch No 7 Carving Tool Gouge. Measuring 4 5/8" from the
edge to the top of the handle, the blade is 3/8" wide across the sweep,
the sweep is a No. 7, this is 9 1/8" overall, and this weighs 2 3/4 oz
unboxed. This also has the Hammacher Schlemmer & Co mark on the back.
This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There is a little
frosting and staining on the inside of the sweep but nothing too bad.
The back has a few small and light pitted spots. This will need a
sharpening. The handle is the original one and is good other than
stained bands from some colored tape that was wrapped around and a few
dings on the end. This ain't pristine but it will get the job done. $22.00

Henckels 1/16 Inch No 6 Sweep Carving Tool Gouge. Measuring 3 3/16"
from the edge to the top of the handle, the blade is 1/16" wide across
the sweep, the sweep looks to be a No. 6, this is 7 9/16" overall, and
this weighs 1 oz unboxed. Henckels is a long time German cutlery maker
still in business but they haven't made carving tools like this for a
while now. This is in good condition, the only cleaning I did was to
pretty up the handle a touch. The blade is good on both the inside and
the outside, with the only note is that there is a little roughness
along the one side edge. The edge is good and feels sharp to the
touch. The handle is original to the tool. That has some stains but
it's solid with no cracks. This is a good carving tool and I have sold
a number over the years and ain't nobody ever complained about them. $20.00

edge, the sweep is a No. 1, this is 9 1/4" overall, and this weighs 3 oz
unboxed. This also has the Hammacher Schlemmer & Co mark on the back.
This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. The blade has
some frosted spots and one small pitted spot on the front. The back
also has a few pitted spots but that won't matter much since this is
sharpened to a knife edge. This will need a sharpening. The handle
looks to be the original one and is good other than some staining on the
end. This ain't pristine but it sure ain't bad either. $20.00

blade, 6 7/8" long (straight across), the blade is 1 3/8" long across
the edge, and they weigh 2 1/2 oz unboxed. These are in reasonably
good condition and were cleaned. The upper one has some stained and
light spots on the blade but nothing too bad. The lower one has some
frosting on the blade. Both edges will need a touch-up. The handles
are good other than some staining and the lower one has a few bits of
paint down in the grain. Both blades are in tight. These ain't

Uncommon Early Hand Forged Blacksmith Bending Tongs. Measuring 12 1/16"
long, the jaws are 1 5/16" deep, 9/16" wide across the jaw faces, and
this weighs 2 lbs 8 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in
decent condition and was cleaned. There is the usual patina including
some crusty up inside the joint that I couldn't get too. The jaws have
steel faces a little over 1/8" thick. Those are good other than a small
chip off of the one corner and have some light filed cross hatching.
There is a wee gap at the front when they are closed and they aren't
quite flush across the tops. The joint has a little wiggle and the
rivet has been "adjusted" a few times but it ain't gonna faill apart.
The handles are good other than the one spot on the inside where there
is some scaling. This ain't pristine but this style of tongs rarely
shows up and I have been selling tools for a long time now. $30.00

7/16" wide, a hair under 1/4" thick, and this weighs 2 1/2 oz unboxed.
This is signed on the handle but I can not read the mark. This is in
reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There are some spots of very
light pitting up by the tip but nothing bad, There also are some frosted
and stained spots down the rest of the blade. The handle is good other
than a few stained spots. This ain't minty but it will get the job
done. $20.00

L S Starrett No 67 Machinist Improved Scriber. Measuring 8 3/4" and
this weighs 1 1/2 oz unboxed. This is in reasonably good condition and
was not cleaned. There ain't much in the way of patina other than the
knurling on the one end of the handle is worn, probably from being
clamped or held with a pair of pliers. Both tips are good and they do
remove as you can see. This ain't pristine but it sure ain't bad and it
will get the job done. $15.00

hermaphrodite caliper measuring 6 9/16" long, the one on the left is a
No. 27 inside caliper measuring 6 7/16" long, and they weigh 4 1/2 oz
unboxed. These are in decent condition and were cleaned. There are
some stained and frosted spots and some light scuffing but nothing too
bad. The tips and joints are good. The joint on the No. 27 is a little
stiff but it does work. These ain't minty but they are quality tools.

the tips, and this weighs 2 3/4 oz unboxed. This was made by the C Cal
Company of Marrietta PA as an advertising piece for the Allentown Bobbin
Works. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. There is some
overall frosting but nothing too bad patina wise. There are user
initials stamped on the one jaw and on the back of the sliding jaw. The
rulings are all readable and the locking screw does it's job. This
ain't fancy but it is neat collectible tool to say the least. $17.00

the edge to the top of the handle, the blade is 4 1/4" long, this is 10
9/16" overall, and this weighs 5 3/4 oz unboxed. This is NOS, that's
New Old Stock, and was not cleaned. This came with a bunch of other NOS
ones I had, but this is missing the cardboard and the protective end
cap. There are a few tiny dots of patina from setting around and the
handle has a few scuffs from being knocked around in the box. Other
than that, this guy is minty fresh right down to the factory sharpening
job. This is a top quality English tool. $18.00

Early English Flat Bottom Saw Tote. Measuring 7 1/4" long and this
weighs 6 1/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in as
found condition and was not cleaned. There is some overall wear but
this guy is fairly straight. The grip has a couple of thin checks near
the bottom but nothing that goes all the way through. The top horn has
some wear on the end as does the lower horn. This is missing one of the
nuts, but when chances are, when you get as old as this guy is, well so
will you. Just saying. I tried the nuts and they do turn but I didn't
have the screws all the way out. This is what it is, but if you need
one to restore an old English saw, these guys are pretty much few and
far between. $18.00

head is 3 3/8" long, the face is 15/16" in diameter, and this weighs 6
oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition.
This had been cleaned previously and I just took off some recent
patina. There are some spots of pitting and some scuff marks, either
from when this was made or from the previous cleaning. The face has
some dings and some light chipping around the edge. The peen is good
but has been dressed. The handle is the original one. That has some
staining but it's solid. I did reseat the head and it's on tight
setting here. This ain't minty but it is a neat hammer and I sure ain't
seen too many like it around. $18.00

maker, this looks to be an unmarked Stanley No. 61. This is in
reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There ain't much in the way
of patina to fuss about. The beam is straight, the point is good, and
all the rulings are readable. The head is good on the side with the
fence and the flat side as well. The locking screw does it's job. This

blade is 2 1/16" wide, and this weighs 11 1/4 oz unboxed. This is in
reasonably good condition and was cleaned. The body has some light
casting roughness and was never japanned, at least from what I can see.
The sole is good other than some light pitting at the front and behind
the mouth. The cap also has some casting roughness and flaw on the one
corner. The blade isn't marked. That has a few dots but nothing too bad.
There are a few tiny chips on the edge but that will need a sharpening
anyways. Both screws work. This ain't minty or perfect but these guys
sure don't show up very often, at least around these here parts. $26.00

were cleaned. There is a little patina on the bodies. Both tops have
some dings and the start of some mushrooming. The tips are a little

Big Early Hand Forged Blacksmith Tap Holder Twister Bar. Measuring 24
7/8" long, the opening is roughly 15/16" square, and this weighs 4 lbs 3
oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in reasonably good
condition and was cleaned. There ain't much to fuss about patina wise
on this guy. The arms are good. The hole has some dings marks along a
few sides but nothing too bad. What this is, well it's either a big tap
holder for hand forged taps, a twister bar, or one guy even said bolt
header but usually those are dinged up around the hole and I've never
seen a two handled one. But what ever it is, this is a good collectible
hand forged tool. $25.00

Machinist Toolmaker Vise Or Clamp. The body is 4" long, 1 3/16" wide, 1
7/16" high, the jaw opens to 1 11/16", closes to about 1/16", and this
weighs 1 lb 6 3/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker, this looks to
be user crafted. This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.
The machining on the body is on the coarse side, I guess the guy wasn't
interested in pretty. There is some frosting and a few dings on the
body as well. Both the fixed face and the face on the moveable jaw are
good. The set screw that holds the jaw to the screw does work. The
main screw has some dings on the threads but it does it's job. This
ain't perfect but I sure ain't seen too many of this style of vise
around in this size either. $27.00

These are in reasonably good condition and were not cleaned. There
ain't much in the way of patina to fuss about. The jaws are good and
the inside faces are clean and free of dings and scuffs. The screws are
also good and travel the full distance. These are lot heavier than the
Starrett or Brown & Sharpe clamps of this size. $20.00

Keen Kutter No 5 Jack Plane. This weighs 4 lbs 3 oz unboxed. This is
the Bedrock style plane made by Stanley. The frog has the B casting
mark on it. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. Note this is
straight, any bending you see is because of camera lens distortion,
although why folks would think that I would sell a bent plane is beyond
me. This is a former school plane. The sides have a lot of tiny dings
and some light scratches. The sole also has some dings and some deeper
scratches. The japanning is original behind the frog, the front area
may have been been touched up at some point. The lever cap is good
other than some scratches. The chipbreaker is original and also good.
The blade is also the original one and has some very light patina on the
exposed areas and the back. The cutting face is clean but short. Best
to source another blade and keep this one for the collectible value.
The blade will need a sharpening. The tote and knob are hardwood and
were probably replaced at some point in time. They were also finished
by someone else. They ain't the prettiest but they are solid. All the
screws work and were oiled. Minty picked up and moved out of town on
this guy a while ago but it will get the job done. $47.00

G W Denison & Co Screw Arm Plow Plane Body & Fence To Restore. This all
weighs 2 lbs 3/4 oz unboxed. This is in reasonably good condition and
was not cleaned, at least by me. The body has the usual dings on the
heel and some stains and other marks but no checks. The skate has a
little patina but nothing too bad. The depth stop is good and works.
The wedge has a little dinging on the edges and under the finial. The
fence has a small chip off the lower edge at the front and some stains
and dings. Where the arms and nuts went, I have not a clue, but

Unusual Early Hand Forged Blacksmith Anvil Hardie. Measuring 5 7/8"
long, the face is roughly 1 7/8" long, 1 1/2" wide, the shaft is about
7/8" square, and this weighs 2 lbs 8 1/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to
the maker. This does have chisel and punch mark decorations on both
sides of the head. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. There
is some patina but nothing that didn't come from old age and hard work.
The face is good other than some staining. The head and shaft are bent
a little but when you get to be this old, you are gonna be more than a
little bent. The center section is tapered and the hole below the
center and the holes on the sides are also tapered, although they may
have been added to this guy later in it's history. I an thinking that
this was used for drawing down a rod to a smaller size, but it didn't
come with the instruction manual so that's just a somewhat educated
guess. This is a neat and very collectible blacksmith tool and it sure
didn't get here for free either. Just saying. $55.00

Measuring 12 13/16" overall, the blade is 8" long, 1 9/16" high (from
the teeth to the start of the back), this is sharpened to 15 PT (14 TPI)
CC, and this weighs 5 1/4 oz unboxed. This is NOS (that's New Old Stock)
and was not cleaned. There is nothing to fuss about at all other than a
few very light scuffs to the finish on the blade. This is factory sharp
and straight and they don't get any better than this. $22.00

Vintage Hook Scraper Co No 100 Long Adjustable Scraper. Measuring 17
5/16" long, the blade is 2 1/2" wide, the slot is 12 3/8" long, and this
weighs 15 3/4 oz unboxed. This is in reasonably good condition and was
cleaned. There some wear to the original finish but it's mostly there.
The blade has a little patina but it's sharp. The handle moves up and
down the full distance. This ain't perfect but this ain't a tool that
was purchased just to be admired for how pretty it is. $20.00

Old Blacksmith Forged Hand Held Drift Punch. Measuring 9 9/16" long,
about 7/8" in diameter at the handle area, and this weighs 1 lb 3 3/4 oz
unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition and
was cleaned. There is the usual patina found on this kind of tool. The
tip is bent a wee bit and I did clean off some mushrooming. The
striking end has a bloom of mushrooming but nothing sharp. This ain't
pretty or perfect but then neither are you and it will get the job
done. $17.00

reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There is a little frosting
and a few light spots of pitting but nothing too bad. The face has some
light dings. The claws are good. The eye is good to go. This ain't
pristine but it is a quality hammer head. $18.00

blade is 2 9/16" long, 1/8" wide across the outside, and this weighs 1
3/4 oz unboxed. This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.
There are some spots of light pitting on the blade and tang plate. The
edges could stand a sharpening. The handle has some stains and somebody
carved an H into the end but it's solid and the blade is in tight. This
ain't pristine but these guys sure don't show up every day. $18.00
