267333 Walt Cheever <walt2che@g...> 2018‑12‑11 FS Stanley #6 Plane DIY project
The plane is Stanley #6, Type 14 (made between 1929 and 1930) .   It’s in good
shape for its age, and can be restored to an excellent one.  Bottom is
reasonably flat, not corrugated.   Japanning is about 50%, fairly spotty.   I
don’t know if the iron is original or not, but it is Stanley.  Tote has broken
and been repaired by someone, and it needs a  top transplant.   It’s missing one
machine screw and washer that hold the frog to the base.  It has a light coating
of rust overall, but no pitting.

My story is that I decided that I needed a #6, got one and started on it, then
my interests changed.  That was 5 years ago, and I’m not going to finish it in
the next 5.

I’ll sell it for $25, Old Tools terms.  First person to ask for it gets it, but
you have to have a biography filed.

For your $25 plus shipping you get the plane as described above, a piece of
matching tote wood to make the new top, a total of 3 plane irons, one Stanley,
one Stanley Sweetheart, one Keen Kutter, and two cap irons.  If you want I’ll
include a cup of Citric Acid…

And….this is my first time using Flickr for photos. If I’ve screwed this up so
people can’t see the pics, please give me quick suggestion for the next time.
