When I was a kid we stopped and visited with Bill Hafeman. He was a maker of birch bark canoes in Bigfork, MN. I see his shop is still going - http://highwayhighlights.com/2014/08/hafeman-boat-works-bigfork-mn/ We were up there to fish the Bigfork River, but complained to Bill they weren’t biting. “They always bite for me”, he said, pointing to a spear hanging on the wall.
