Bill Beautiful job and nice wood selection. If you are still looking, I found a firm that makes water slide decals to order like this: https://www.flickr.com/photos/ruby1638/10931983976/in/album-72157635130471994/ Let me know if you want their info Ed Minch |

The slots in the tool chest are too unique to have hope of finding the missing tools in the wild. These shop-made squares will do as place holders. I liked the blade detail on Bill Ghio's square so I incorporated something similar. http://billwebber.galootcentral.com/1805-023.JPG These are the slots to be filled. http://billwebber.galootcentral.com/1805-024.JPG I'm not certain they all held squares, but they do now. http://billwebber.galootcentral.com/1805-025.JPG http://billwebber.galootcentral.com/1805-026.JPG The other end of the big one. http://billwebber.galootcentral.com/1805-027.JPG There are 10 squares in this section of the tool chest. Four are original and marked J. Hilton, two others came with the chest and I made the remaining four. The small ones are ebony and brass. The big one is from 20-year old cherry. It is 32+ inches long. It will get a finish when the flood waters recede. Thanks to folks that helped with my design/decision process. Bill W. As with all my temporary jobs, no doubt these will be "permanently" temporary. Actually, in terms of geologic time, all our work is temporary, init? I've got an old metal roofing square that actually disassembles for flat toolbox storage. A couple of tiny dog point set screws firmly hold the parts together as I recall. Haven't seen it in a long time so I'm not sure where I put it, but if I find it I'll post a few pictures. I think it was made in the 1940's or thereabouts. Anyone else have one of these? Cheers from Waterloo Claudio |
