A friend found a deer antler in her back yard and wanted to display it. She asked me to make a base. I used some walnut and took the inspiration for the shape from a pre-war boat halyard winch I have. https://www.flickr.com/photos/ruby1638/24674458448/in/dateposted-public/ Ed Minch |

Nice - simple and attractive, and lets the antler speak for itself. Did you use a hanger bolt for the attachment? Phil On Mon, Nov 20, 2017 at 10:04 AM, Joseph Sullivan |

Nice job on that Ed. It's unique, I like it! Of course, I would want to use the tips for pressure flaking instead (for flint knapping) Cheers from Waterloo Claudio |

I played with sizes and ended up with a 5/16” bolt that I cut the head off of. It goes 2” down into the base and 2” up into the antler, with about an inch exposed, glued to the base but not the antler. Ed Minch |
