Yeah the Wizard ratchet wrench had the case hardened finish, I really like the
way the finish looks, on guns and old tools. That blue marbled look is just
beautiful to my eye.

He really isn't much into Snap-On. Over priced and he is budget minded. He
prefers old Plomb, Proto, Williams, Sherman Klove (S-K). Like many other types
of tools, there was a style to the older ones--a look, a shape, a feel to them
which is missing from new tools.

  I can't even begin to guess how many hundreds of sockets and many dozens of
ratchets he has, so finding something unique is getting harder every year.  I
will research more on the JH Williams.

I am afraid I am falling down the Eifel Plierench rabbit hole. Ed sent me one to
be given to my son in law, and I really like it! This one is a March 1944 issue
in great shape. I think he is gonna dig it.

I want to thank everyone who has made suggestions. I have great ideas now for
his birthday and next Christmas, and I have found a couple of things I might
begin to acquire as well.

I am also working on a child size woodworking tool kit for my Grandson. I have
an 18" panel saw that I am making a new handle for out of some curly pear which
came from a downed neighborhood tree. There will be some wooden handle and
perfect handle screw drivers in it, a small hammer I am re handling, a coping
saw and small block plane and egg beater drill.   As he gets older I will add
chisels and a no. 3 plane to the kit as well as brace and bits. I am having more
fun putting the kit together for him than he will have using it!
