garagejournal.com is the giant discussion group site for wrenches
you find thousands of guys who all buy new Snap-on for astro money,
(kind of like the guys who collect LN boxes) and brag about it, plus
many others too
thegaragegazette.com is where the old mechanics who love old tools hang out
Also papawswrench.com, even more intimate
You already bought him a Wizard ratchet, that's a pretty desirable
item. (was it striped bluing as issued?)
And a Plumb pepple box end set? Geeze? nice
OK my personal favorite right now is J.H. Williams stuff
Williams was in the wrench business long before Snappy. Williams were
the boys from Brooklyn.
Snap-On invented the "spring n ball" and revolutionized ratchets and
other drive tools.
But Williams was right there. Plus they offered style like nobody else.
The good part for me is, they are mostly overlooked by the wrench
collecting community, so you can still have the cream of the crop.
From 1/4" deco to the monster 1".
